Re: Offaly Senior Hurlers 2023
It’s fairly clear Offaly are a long way off competing at the top table again. Nowhere near good enough today against prob a Wexford 2nd string. Relax. It’s only 2nd week of January. These aren’t the games we need to be winning. These are glorified challenge matches. We’re down a number of regulars ...

Really? His teams generally play a depressing type of defensive muck.Fairplayalways wrote: ↑Wed Dec 28, 2022 9:14 pm I like Flanagan as a manager but this doesn't look good.

They were beaten by 16 pts this year by Birr in the QF and looked well off been a county final winning team.

Re: League & Championship hurling 2022
When was the last time offaly club team won a first round game at senior level? Rynaghs were very close to knocking out ballyhale, has to be noted though, ballyhale looked on course to hammer rynaghs until the red card. Kilcormac got to the 2017 Leinster final before Cuala beat them comfortably. If...

Re: League & Championship hurling 2022
Thank you POTH for that. Wow, only 3 times in 40years. That’s interesting. Did Clareen win the senior ‘95? So Ballyskenagh were senior from 1996 and if memory serves me right they got to a senior final in 2003?

Re: League & Championship hurling 2022
Interesting to note that all 5 Adult hurling championships were won by 1st team clubs. Good to see. Just wondering would POTH or any other good GAA historian know when this was last achieved? Might have happened recently enough when there was only 4 championships. But curious to note when it last ha...

Re: League & Championship hurling 2022
Birr were absolutely brutal all over. Their touch was so bad in first half coming out of defence. Someone here was talking about Mullins being “the quarterback” of the team - I couldn’t understand why he kept hitting his full back line in the first half and they coughed up possession and KK punished...

Anyone see any team sheets for the Senior A matches at least? Don’t seem to see on any of the Offaly GAA social media pages.

Re: Minors hurlers 2022
For me the most frustrating aspect of the whole weekend is people’s inability to correctly spell the name of the ground we lost the game in. It’s NOWLAN Park. And if you want to give it it’s proper title and spelling it’s UPMC Nowlan Park. https://hoganstand.com/article/index/305019 That was the mo...

So true. More important to keep being competitive at this level over the next few yearsBord na Mona man wrote: ↑Sat Jul 02, 2022 12:36 pm Yeah, great to have a big match with Offaly people travelling in force.
We'd love to win, but if it's not to be, it's still fantastic group of players coming through.
