Re: Offaly Hurling Panel 2015

Ryot You are missing the point. .....the lads DO want to play for Offaly, but not when there is a manager who is blatantly out of his depth. This has nothing whatsoever to do with Padjo. ... the current manager was probably one of the very best players i have ever seen......but that does not guarant...

Re: Kilcormac-Killoughey in Leinster - 2014

Agreed Townman. ...the pitch was in fantastic nick....goid solid ground on which to play hurling.....it was particularly good considering the rain that fell in the days before the game. KK will need to take their chances from hereon in.....but a rest and a good spell of preparation will work wonders...

Re: Kilcormac-Killoughey in Leinster - 2014

That was addifficult game against a good Raharney side who matched KK with their work rate.....but I thought the changes KK MADEfor tthelast 15 mins was ultimately the difference between tthe two teams. When switched, Con Mahon and CilianKiely made a huge difference and Tommy Geraghty made a big dif...

Re: Kevin Brady retires after 11 years

Kevin, in my humble opinion, you have reinforced my point....but perhaps the two of us are raving.....iit is, indeed, the responsibility of management to put the best possible team on the field....that includes those with whom there are personality clashes, differences of opinions, and issues which ...

Re: minor hurling

I agree about finding it difficult to finish championships this year but why are they left till this time of year. There is absolutely no reason why the minor hurling championship could not be finished in time for the final to be played before the senior final. The semi final between KK and B/D was ...

Re: Kilcormac-Killoughey in Leinster - 2014

I think Ardrahan won by 3-4 points......Glynn playe full fforward and centre forward in the second half.....he will be a handful for anyone....they tried to play everything through him ...Tannion played centre back.....a good match up between himself and conor mahon.....i think it will be tight on S...

Re: Kilcormac-Killoughey in Leinster - 2014

I was at the Ardrahan game..... they hurled reasonably well against a very impressive Ardrahan team for whom Johnny Glynn and Iarla Tannion were very good....Glynn in particular was outstanding and dangerous every time he got the ball. However, while the Ardrahan lads were very much up for it, I did...

Re: Kevin Brady retires after 11 years

Always like Kevin Brady and his style of hurling, although he does go over the top now and again....a fully committed hurler who never gave anything other than his best. Cannot help but wonder if all of these (and the few more that are definitely coming) retirements are as a resukt of the re - appoi...

Re: Offaly Hurling Panel 2015

Townman maybe Ger Coughlan is gone as well!!!!! I heard Damian Fox and Killian Farrell are in with Brian Whelehan!!! But don't't know in which capacity....actually think Damian Fox will be a sensible appointment....don't know enough about Killian Farrell to make a call one way or another, other than...

Re: Offaly Hurling Panel 2015

I see Brian Lowry posted on twitter a short time ago that Brian Whelehan will name his full backroom team and his initial 34 man panel (excluding the KK lads) in tomorrow's Tribune......all will be revealed shortly so!!!! Dread to think what it might read like.....but here's hoping for the best!!!!

Re: Offaly Hurling Panel 2015

Why don't Offaly publish their county panels (or at least those called in for the preliminary panel) like many of the other cutiesdo? I heard something ssimilar about Dempsey not being included.....i also heard Brian Mulling has been called in. Now, I think Mullins was one of Offaly's best goalkeepe...

Re: National Hurling League 2015

It was very interesting to see thec company Brian Whelehan was keeping in Wexford Park yesterday....and to be fair he was almost as enthusiastic in his support as the KK fans.....

Re: Kilcormac-Killoughey in Leinster - 2014

The hallmark of any good team is to win when you are not playing well.....Shelmaliers put it up to KK big time.....they were physical, hungry, and kept going all day. ...it was a great catch from Goran for the goal, and Kiely s 4 points from play were superb......but for me Ger Healion was outstandi...
