Re: Offaly Senior Footballers 2024
How they lost from that position is beyond me. We were coasting and should have seen it out. Clare owned ball and waltzed through us in last 15 mins like a knife through butter. There were good things for lots of game albeit Clare left chances behind too early in game - and again towards end with so...

Re: Offaly Senior Footballers 2024
Huge game on Sunday for Offaly in game where they need to get a result - at least a draw and hopefully a win. A loss would see us likely to lose 4 in a row as we have Down up next, which will likely heap more pressure on manager. The team announced shows the same 6 backs as the last day with Bracken...

Re: Offaly Senior Hurlers 2024
Some over reactions here are most amusing. We need perspective. We are a work in progress. Couple of young lads getting blooded. Main priority for them should be retaining Leinster U20. That will not be easy. Re seniors, Waterford was a solid performance that we faded in for last 10 mins or so. To g...

Re: Offaly Senior Footballers 2024
very true. If previous managers had got that result, there would've been more questions. Maybe it is acceptance of where we are or else people are slow to go in hard on a 'developing team' and local manager. Not sure what the mood is in the camp but it is always going to be hard with 2 losses from 2...

Re: Offaly Senior Footballers 2024
Anybody there with any thoughts. Coverage on 103 was very poor to say the least. Very little info from the game on local radio.

Re: Offaly Minor Football 2024
I'd suggest that if Birr was a school of its size with an all boys population, they would be competing well in A schools hurling. I think it is only breaking even for Colaiste Choilm to be getting to a quarter or semi final of A schools football. They have almost a monopoly on the talent in the area...

Re: Offaly Senior Footballers 2024
Where do you start with that? Welcome to senior football chaps. Big gap from u20 to inter county senior. First half was as poor a half as I've seen from Co senior team in a long while. A few sympathy frees from referee kept us somewhat competitive at Half time. We were totally over powered in middle...

Re: Offaly Senior Footballers 2024
Nothing surprising really only Aiden Bracken. Was one of the better u20s on Kellys u20s in years before they won All Ireland and Central to Ballycommon success. Well capable. Hyland Hogan and Cunningham are big losses but Cunningham could appear in 2nd half. Huge game. Players have put in huge effor...

Re: Offaly Minor Football and Hurling 2023
Where are the posters that said it wasn't a fair that a combined team play in the schools competition. Last year was a one off. Next year we will be weaker again. And to emphasise the point, how come we can get 3 teams into A football and one in hurling. In football there is Colaiste Choilm Tullamo...

Re: Offaly Minor Football and Hurling 2023
Still here. It was unfair last year on other schools. Our co team got to All Ireland minor and U20 final and these all played in the team that walked Leinster schools. Kilcormac were in the A competition this year. Suggesting it to be ok would be like putting that Kilcormac school team up against Co...

Re: Offaly Senior Footballers 2024
I wouldn't put too much emphasis on O Byrne Cup even if that Dublin result was a poor one. There is and was lots going on for lads with Sigerson etc at time and hard to manage that with different loads on various players who had other things going on with college football. The league will tell us ex...

Re: Offaly Senior Footballers 2024
I'd agree and I'd add Keelan Cawley to that list. I've watched lots of that U20 team in adult club championship over last 2-3 years and none of them have stood out in any way at club level, bar perhaps Lee Pearson, Keith O Neill and possibly Harry Plunkett who isn't even on the senior panel. For wha...

Re: Offaly Senior Footballers 2024
Down and Sligo to go up for me. Limerick and Wicklow to drop. Sligo have real buzz in football in recent years. Their seniors have improved hugely under Tony McEntee and think Offaly are small bit off their level now. They were also extremely close to winning U20 All Ireland last year and were reall...
