Re: Laois v Offaly – Leinster Hurling Quarter Final 7th Ju
Or maybe applicants for jobs will know what is required for a successful application and get involved with their local club? Carrot and stick etc Every primary trainee from Kilkenny knows that being involved in hurling and camogie in their local club, in whatever way they can is a huge benefit to them

Re: Laois v Offaly – Leinster Hurling Quarter Final 7th Ju
You’ve raised some good points there, Fence. The way hurling is coached in Offaly has become outdated and it doesn’t prepare hurlers for when they compete against other counties, where fetching, passing, developing the play, tackling (NOT hooking and blocking, but proper tackling) are second nature...

Re: Offaly GAA is in Some State
the problem with opening up debate on the future for GAA games in Offaly is that it lays bare all the stuff that is not being done. if they bothered to engage with clubs properly, got a few review committees in place and just focussed on improving one or two areas each year going forward then in 5 y...

Re: Strength and Conditioning Coach available
speed and core strength come from having a greater base of general strength. As does injury prevention and general fitness most club trainers seem to bring in somebody they know to do a bit with a squad for a few weeks in either pre season or start of field training, then don't continue aspects of i...

Re: Kilcormac-Killoughey in Leinster - 2014
I often feel Kilkenny teams are refereed differently than other teams. They are let away with a lot of stuff, just because they are from Kilkenny. It permeates refereeing standards when you have the likes of Cody bullying referees at national level and being let away with it. Very similar to the All...

Re: Kilcormac-Killoughey in Leinster - 2014
KK got at least one if not two very soft frees towards the end to draw level and go in front. they had the bit more experience at this level to earn those. Raharney played extra men back and kept it very tight. It nearly worked for them except they kept launching the ball straight down the field to ...

Re: GAA Central Funding
I got this from an article in the Irish Examiner the other day about Dublin http://www.irishexaminer.com/sport/gaa/dalys-hurling-wastelands-claim-rejected-295548.html "Every club is allocated €18,000 per annum by the board to ensure a Games Promotion Officer (GPO) is working to increase the num...

Re: Offaly GAA is in Some State
we'd be better off training up 5/6 suitable master tutors within the county who can then go on and pass on the knowledge and information to coaches throughout the county at all levels film the main session and put it up on an Offaly GAA coaching website (easily done) create ideas and various coachin...

Dublin Under 21 footballers came down and hammered Roscommon in the final this year and beat them in 2012 too.
