Re: Offaly vs Louth 2021 Leinster Football Championship

Louth win - Mickey Harte x factor. Tired Offaly shouldn't have played the League final, Louth waiting in the long grass, Offaly got carried away with a couple of league wins. Offaly win - Mickey Harte washed up, on the rebound, chasing expenses. Offaly learned from the Derry match, playing in Divis...

Re: Defunct clubs

St. Coleman's were a Daingean Parish side I think. Someone from the Daingean area will no doubt put me right. Yes, St.Colmans were the U21 Daingean Parish team that preceeded St.Vincents. Operated as a senior team on and off in the 50's+60's but used primarily since then for the U21 team as the 4 c...

Re: Amalgamations

Would they not amalgamate with Ballycommon before Daingean? Considering it was done in the past and they’re served by the one school. Parish rivalries are a strange thing. Ballycommon are more likely to join Cappincur than either of the other 2 in the parish. Ballycommon & Kilclonfert merger is...

Re: Amalgamations

The Daingean / Kilclonfert one is feasible. Kilclonfert will struggle to field 15 in the next few years, just don't have the numbers. Daingean will benefit from the likes of Cathal Managan and a couple of young border players who might have opted for the black&Gold. There are a some players on K...

Re: Senior A Football Champioship

Both Senior semis were a shock. Going to be very insteresting final. I guess the big shock is Clara losing A status? Gracefield look best to bounce back. The 2 big Hurling clubs K/K and Rynaghs are in Inter Final, big double on the cards for one team? Very impressed with K/K, best I've seem them in ...

Re: Senior A Football Champioship

Frst of all, for me it's Rhode & Ferbane, simple, the most consistent teams in it. Tullamore had a big 'come back' in last game but I just don't think they have enough to get past Ferbane. Edenderry are a young team who will be around and better in the next couple of years. Tonight sees the Inte...

Shinrone - Clearys?

Just saw the panel for the recent match V Ballinanmere

8 Clearys on starting team and 5 more on the subs bench!
I will admit I know less than nothing about the club, but that's something else.
Are they all related?

Re: Live Streaming of Club Matches

I got in a couple of games last week and I believe the service is location dependent, not the service provider issues. Streaming relies on a reliable upload from the site, and therein is the variable. One gane on 247.tv was great, another was iffy, and I saw another 2 more on facebook stream, where ...

Live Streaming of Club Matches

As I've only seen a couple of game so far, I am impressed by the offering and especially with the Rd.2 games scheduled to be streamed. They are even going to Tier-3, Intermediate Football matches, which shows great support to clubs like mine. Hope they keep it up and spread the coverage.

Re: Divisional sides

Make the Leagues smaller, less games, and throw this regional thing in early in season before real championship starts.

Re: Intermediate Football 2019

Congrats Shannonbridge, best team won. Controlled the game except for a spell in the middle when Clonbullogue had their run.
Right good crowd at the match, but F/Fields lack atmosphere, hard to feel the buzz of a final.

Re: Newspaper Articles and other media bits

Spot on LS. Where do this group get a mandate? Everyone who is either a player, member or committee activist has a right to be represented fairly and evenly. While good intentions and 'what's best for Offaly' are everyones wishes, groups like this have to be very careful what they wish for...they ju...
