Re: Allianz Hurling League Roinn 1B 2016

The work load on players is huge. Certain guidelines need to be put in place. It is not down to the manager as he has only a short window to have success. It boils down to the club and what they allow the player to do and how many club teams he is on. Also when it gets to inter county, the county bo...

Re: Offaly Hurling Championships 2015

I dont think adding a third team to a list of two can be taken as saying something "totally different" or "as ridiculous". In my opinion, how you can judge a club as been, lesser or bigger would have to be based on more than a county title. 80 % or more have foundation course don...

Re: Offaly Hurling Championships 2015

Private joker you comment is quite ridiclious you say one thing then 2 lines later you say something totally different. The fact is we are all falling behind at county level cos the hurlers are not there, the sooner we realise that the better. It's noting about commitment as 90% of these guys but i...

Re: Offaly Hurling Championships 2015

Just reading the post about every club giving 100% commitment and passion. This statement is simple not true. 100 % means everything is given to the cause. The club, all players, row in behind the team and mgt for the betterment of the collective. My experience of teams in offaly outside of kilcormac...

Re: Walsh Cup 2016

Was at the game. Very poor standard of hurling. Tough conditions but some mistakes had nothing to do with the weather. Second goal was excellent. Would have been a big blow if offaly had lost as this was not a good kk team. Pitch was in poor condition. In front of stand was terrible. Good crowd. But...

Re: Initial Offaly Hurling Squad

There can be hundreds of reasons for not being able to commit to inter county hurling. Work or study to name but two. But, If the reason is, for been taking off in a match, or not prepared to do whats needed for Offaly hurling then it kind of shows up the real reason for recent failures and the comp...

Re: 2016 Championship

I think offaly playing in birr might help the attendance, but winning matches, that's down to the team. Offaly is a small county, tullamore is ideal for every one to attend. For the long term development of offaly hurling, tullamore in the long run should be the host venue. Birr in the short term mi...

Re: Offaly GAA Centre of Excellence

Thought there would be more talk about this. This is a huge development for Offaly. It will be on a par with Dr Morris In Thurlas. I think its the start of something special that will hopefully occur in Offaly G.A.A. All county teams should be able to train there, juvenile county blitzes and county ...

Re: Offaly GAA is in Some State

Old yellar. You hit the nail on the head. I can safely tell you nothing has changed. It's not the need for new faces, it's to let the ones there do their job. Quite simply the full time staff in offaly are not been let do their job properly. They are professionals, they should be putting forward ide...

Laois 3 -15 Offaly 1-13

This a surprise? See westmeath had a great win vs Wexford. Fair play to them.
