Re: Offaly Under 21 Hurling Championship

Kinnitty did play poorly yesterday. However, Kinnitty are nearly the only club in the competition that are not amalagmeted with another club. A few years ago we joined with Clareen for 2 years and had very good teams on paper but did not play well together. Clareen went on to win the next 21 champio...

Re: Offaly vs. Limerick NHL 28/03/2010

Am very disappointed after today. Thank God we won. At least we stay in division 1 but the standard of hurling today was poor. Offaly are not as bad as today. But where does the blame lay on today's performance. I'd say mostly with management but a few of the more experienced players need to take a ...

Re: Offaly vs Galway NHL 20/03/2010

Sounded like a good fightback on the radio. While it is disappointing to lose, it is good to see Offaly put in a good second half performance 2 weeks in a row. Important question which I hope someone can answer. Last year we were informed in the club championship& leagues, that if 2 teams finish...

Re: League structure 2010

Very disappointing if this is true. Teams should be allowed to continue to participate in the league they were already in or promoted to etc.

Re: Predictions for 2010

Senior Football - Rhode. Senior Hurling - Kinnitty-my own club, if not, then prob Birr will still be the team to beat. Offaly footballers to lose to Meath after a good game and a decent run in the qualifiers if draw is okay. Offaly hurlers to beat Antrim but to lose out to Galway.Depends on qualifie...

Re: Offaly SHC Structure 2009/2010

Proposals going ahead to next Tuesday night's county board will have the same format for hurling and football next year, 2 groups of 6 with 1st in each group qualifying for semi-finals, 2nd and 3rd into quarter-finals. 5th and 6th will play relegation matches. This system will also apply to intermed...

Re: Leinster SHC 2010

I also can't believe Colm Coughlan, Eddie Bevans and Mark Egan have been left off the panel. I even felt sorry for Brian Coughlan, he didn't have a brilliant year but he played well for Offaly 21s against KK and he is good player with potential, he is young and should have been left on the panel and...

Re: Offaly Minor Hurlers

Well if that's true-then it is shocking and a disgrace from Johnny! It is now time to appoint next year's management team and not have the farce like we had with the under 21 management this year being appointed 6 weeks before the championship. It is obvious Johnny Pilkington is not working. Eugene ...

Re: Text Alerts

I have a free text plan where all texts are free. I use it for a hurling team I'm in charge of. However I don't know if I'd want to be in charge of this group text as well. I wouldn't mind sharing the responsibility with someone else if they have the free text plan as well.

I have to say it is a pity the Offaly Express are no longer continuing with their text alerts. Anyway I was thinking it might be possible that we have a text service for uibhfhaili.com members. If anyone is at a coubty match they could text score to a central number and the a group text could be sen...

Re: Offaly u-21 hurling team

I think that it is ridiculous that there are under 21 championship games on St Patrick's Day when many lads would be thinking of heading up to Croke Park for the All Ireland Club Finals. It is also crazy that games are being played and there is no management team in place. A management team should h...

Re: Carlow 3-12 Offaly 1-13 NHL 2005

That 2005 team wasn't that weak- some decent players there! Would like to see Niall Claffey back for Offaly-could play at full-back and David Kenny could move out to centre-back.
