Re: Birr vs. that KK crowd

YAY........................!!!!!!!!!!! I lost money because I had Ballyhale backed for the All-Ireland but that didn't stop me screaming at the TV for Birr all through the game. Last year Ballyhale Shamrocks looked awesome - even without Henry and Cha they looked great on paper - the 3 Reid brothers...

Re: 109 players called up for fooballers 2007/08 season

Also from the Offaly Express / Offaly Today site: "There are some notable absentees despite the vastness of the list including Declan Kelly of Erin Rovers, Karl Mollin of Shamrocks and Adrian Murphy, arguably Edenderry's best player in their run to winning the Intermediate Championship." I...

I wasn't at the game between Tullamore and Eire Og but I can well believe that one reason for Tullamore's fade was that Eire Og dominated the Midfield battle. The lack of a strong Midfield is a real problem for Offaly teams and leads to long spells of opposition dominance. It was the reason that Rho...

I'm just relieved that we can avoid the Tommy Murphy Cup if we finish in the top two of Division 4. If we can't do that then we deserve what we get!! The games against the likes of Kilkenny and London will give us the chance to experiment. Good to see Kilkenny back making an attempt (token?) to prom...

There are a whole cast of characters on an American Football roster that could have their parallels in Offaly football and hurling: For example - The Prima Donna "cancer to the team" wide receiver with the attitude - "I'm making great runs and they just can't get the ball to me"....

Wasn’t it funny to see the different reactions the Team Captains for the night got. • Martin Johnson (Miami), ex-Rugby player and NFL Fan – ecstatic applause from the crowd • John Terry (NYG), introduced as Chelsea player – booed enthusiastically as you would expect from non-Chelsea supporting sport...

Wembley, NFL - Comparisons with O'Connor Park and Croke Park

I was at the Miami Dolphins vs New York Giants game in Wembley. I know that this site was otherwise represented so I'm wondering what others thought of the experience: 1. How does the Royal Corps of Engineers Marching Band measure up to the Mountbolus Pipe Band? 2. Wembley, Croke Park or O'Connor Pa...

I love this competition. Didn't Leinster win last year with some good Offaly displays? They had Franks in the forwards although he was substituted.

I'll be away the weekend of the final in London. I'd be sorry to miss it if Leinster are in the final.

The Rain coming off the Net when the Ball hit it is one of my most vivid memories. I too will take that one to the grave.

I was on the Canal End and I've never been so euphoric before or since, especially when the final whistle blew.
