Re: football championship 2014
How does Laz continue to be let manage teams...sadly this type of incident is nothing new for Laz, I'm sure he felt that the ambulance taking 1 of his players away would give the physiological edge to the opposition that they were tougher men than the men from clonbollouge so by getting him out of t...

Re: football championship 2014
I think 1 of the main problems with Football is that teams all tend to play the exact same way...soon as a team is successful then all the other teams try to copy that model until someone wins doing something slightly different & then that becomes the only way football should be played. I must a...

Re: Pat Spillane Offaly Football and All Ireland Championshi
Ok, so Spillane is bitter over 82....I'm sure if you spoke to any player past or present who lost an all Ireland final they'd be bitter about it too, the 5 in a row would have been massive for them & for them to lose it like they did was hard to take...missing a penalty & then conceding a sl...

Re: Offaly Minor Football 2014
I'll be honest here...these lads aren't as good as we hoped they would be...we're fine beating teams in challenge games & the likes but the Kerry game should have been a warning to us that we had some major defensive problems!! Dublin players were built like lads who wouldn't look out of place i...

Re: Offaly Senior Football Management 2015
With the hole we're in we need a strong manager & back rom staff to come in & get us back on track, but firstly the CB must act now in getting a man in, make sure that training facilitates are in place & really look like their doing something about improving the state of the game of foot...

Re: Duel Players
I think the divide in Offaly hurling & football extends far greater than being from North Offaly & South Offaly...we have a 3 layered approach to how we put all minor, u21 & senior panels together... 1) did your aul lad or uncle play on a Offaly all Ireland winning team...if so, u could ...

Re: Clare looking for an Investigation!
Bringing McGee into the debate is even less relevant...when Eugene took over he progressed 1 stage every year in the championship from the previous year...hardly progress but in the 3rd year we won a Leinster title so I presume the county board felt that was a sign of progress...then we won another ...

Re: Clare looking for an Investigation!
It's not that I think we should have got rid of either...my point is that getting rid of O'Kelly or Fahy back then has no relevance to why Offaly are struggling so much now which is what other people have made reference to in previous posts!! As for the Eugene McGee comment...that's even dumber than...

Re: Clare looking for an Investigation!
Ah the old Paul O'Kelly debate...it's like looking back on the girl who you dumped all those years ago & wonder where you'd be if you had stayed with her. In all likelihood you'd be exactly where u are today...& the same is true of Offaly football & Paul O'Kelly!! O'Kelly did nothing spe...

Re: OFFALY Hurling 2014
If the challenge games before Kilkenny are any indication then drawing Waterdord or clare is going to end in a 20 pt+ beating...Antrim bet us when it really mattered in the league...do you wouldn't say drawing them & having to travel up their would be straight forward. Laois haven't dosgraced th...

Re: Offaly v Kilkenny
I don't think that we should be starting back at under 13 or even back at minor & trying to build from a good hurling team from there...what we need to do is put the right structure in place for the players we have today...be it senior, u21 & minor & all the way down through the developm...

Re: Offaly v Kilkenny
Don't get me wrong here...I know John Allen isn't going to be applying for the Offaly job...but he's the sort of manager we need!! The thing about it is, for any manager coming in, it can't get any worse...we're in a state, so exactly like Tommy Lyons in 96, the only way is up from here...after toda...

Re: Offaly v Kilkenny
Sky sports should have issued a warning at half time to Offaly supporters because those scenes tonight were disturbing!! That was my biggest fear realised...we were fit for the opening 10 mins & after that Kilkenny went up a gear & we had nothing & we got completely blown away!! You can ...

Re: Offaly v Kilkenny
It looks like Cody has already looked past the Offaly game with that team. Let's be honest here we're not exactly well set for an ambush here if the beatings we've taken against Waterford & Clare are anything to go by!! It's a real shame because as Laois & Limerick have proven, the gap betwe...

Re: football championship 2014
This website speaks volumes of where Offaly football now is, considering a thread that started on the Offaly Senior championship has spent the last 2 weeks talking about Kilcormac not fielding a team & in the process there hasn't been a single mention of any of the games played. Let me be honest...
