Re: 2014 O'Byrne Cup

Terrible performance. No shape or strcuture to the team.We play with our two wings forwards in the half back line and full forward as an extra man in midfield yet Wexford scored 16 points, surely if you play so many men in defence we should be limiting a team like Wexford to less than 16 points.Every...

Re: r.i.p liam o connor.

RIP.Michael O'Hehir saying "This is Liam Connor" sends shivers down my spine and I wasn't even alive in 1982.

Out of curiosity , does anyone if his surname is Connor or O'Connor.I have seen both across the the media today.

Re: LSFC Longford V Offaly Friday May 16th 2014

Townman is right, the last time Offaly played longford was in 1997 and that was in Tullamore. Away-in-a-home arrangements involving Offaly seem to be as follows - Kildare - Newbridge's limited capacity precludes playing home matches, even against a county with Offaly's massive travelling support. N...

Re: senior football final Rhode vs Tullamore 15.30 sunday 13

I wonder how Gerry Hickey feels now. Tullamore were fully deserving of their victory although they invited Rhode onto them in the second part of the second half and could have paid the price for that.Kevin Williamson was top class his distribution was outstanding.Shane Dooley finishing was top class...

Re: SFC Qualifier Draw - Offaly vs Tyrone

No wonder you are lostinjuniora if you think adding Shane Dooley to the football squad for this game,at this time, makes any sense! Oh wait, me phone, sorry lads have to take this, (Paul Mollen looking for me!!) In general not bad thinking with Ryan, pace, and may feel there is something in it, Cur...

Re: McDonnell calls up hurling quartet

I always liked Sean Ryan as a footballer and would like him to be a permanent member of the football panel, a really good player to go at the opposition who is direct and stong as a horse. Curram was the best junior footballer in the county last year and could be useful from the bench. Mahon althoug...

Re: SFC Qualifier Draw - Offaly vs Tyrone

Could the county board not have done more to keep these players with the panel until after the Tyrone match. We probably weren't going to win even with Brian Connor ,John Maloney and Michael Brazil but they would have certainly helped alot.I don't want to see us getting humiliated. I don't blame the...

Re: Offaly v Waterford, SH qualifier, 22nd June 2013

Ollie Baker's role as Offaly Senior Hurling Manager must now end. Waterford (without John Mullane etc) would have hammered Offaly but for poor shooting (17 wides). It is most surprising that Ollie Baker did not start any Under 21 player and instead selected players such as Chris Mc Donald, Dermot M...

Re: Offaly v Waterford, SH qualifier, 22nd June 2013

Poor performance in the second half.At half time we were well in the game being only 4 points behind with a big wind advantage in the second half but why we decided to play with a 2 man full forward line in the second half when we had the wind is beyond me.Our forwards can't win ball in the air and ...

Re: Offaly v Waterford, SH qualifier, 22nd June 2013

With Currams and Bergin in the full forward line it looks like we're going the direct route again , should make for a lot of excitement. There is great physical presence in the Offaly team at the moment.

Re: Offaly Senior Football Championship 2013

Was at the edenderry vs clara game, very open game good to watch. Clara lucky with two very easy goals but showed good steal to come back after been down by 6/7 points in second half. Clara missing a few also against a full strenght edenderry team. Thomas Deehan was a different class took the game ...
