Senior Hurling Championship semi-finals
Matches such as the forthcoming semi finals are often described as ‘mouth-watering’ by reporters. I’m not sure why – I must admit my mouth has never watered in advance of a match the way it would before, for example, a sirloin steak with pepper sauce. For this reason we’ll say the semi-finals are ‘e...

Re: County finals
Football final fixed for Sunday 5th October; hurling for the following week. The Birr / Kilcormac semi final is fixed for Saturday week at 5pm. i suspect a the weeks deferrment to some sleight of hand on Birr's part. The extra week will be more of a help to them. When are they on? Why is the second ...

Re: Tullamore Tribune Website Watch.
This week he reviews the county boards official site, Offaly.gaa.ie. Favourable comments on the news section and on the results/fixtures section. Disappointed with the history section of the site stating that it should be more comprehensive than it is and writes “for example Uibhfhaili.com (They wil...

Semi finals set for OCP
I see on the official site the hurling semi-finals have been fixed for O'Connor Park, times and dates to be confirmed.
Looking like it's back to Tullamore for the final and that St. Brendan's Park is worse off than ever.

Re: Mick O'Hara
Transferred to Bruff (I think) at the start of last year, Rat. T'was at the same time Franks went to Kilkenny.

Kilcormac/Killoughey 1-23 Tullamore 1-13
Having shown indifferent form previously Kilcormac/Killoughey burst into form here. Hurling with a hunger, an intensity and a sharpness for the first time this year their striking was crisp, some of their ground strokes were superb, some travelling upwards of forty yards, and their movement and pass...

Re: Birr
I wasn't there but apparently he lined out at left half forward against Drumcullen and was replaced by Aaron before the end. Birr GAA notes in the Tribune note that "PJ" is back. Welcome to the site, BTW, and thanks for the compliments - always appreciated. I wonder is their any sign of th...

Re: New Hurling Mag - Hurling World
Bought it today. Some good articles and the producers have gone for a decent number of short articles rather than four or five long ones which adds to the variety therein. On thing caught my eye - there's a group photograph of the RTÉ Sunday Game team taken at the start of the Summer. Evanne Ní Chui...

Senior Hurling Championship quarter-finals
September and the evenings begin to close in rapidly now. Hurling championship reaches the knockout stages this weekend with two interesting quarter finals. Coolderry and Kinnitty have been drawn straight into the semi finals. A welcome for them in ways but filling an idle four weeks can be difficul...
