Re: SF Challenge, Offaly vs Laois, tonight in Mountmellick

I am just doing some research for college and was wondering if anyone could help me. Does anyone know if Tom Coffey comes from or has a connection with Edenderry or Rhode parishes? Thanks. He might have. Since County Offaly consists of just those two parishes  You do realise that Tom Coffey i...

Re: Return of the Mac ?

llkj's argument is spot on! That is one of the most sensible posts on here in years. Well done to Ahlethimoutwithit! I'd bet steaks to sandwiches There you go again LS, with your betting addiction... You just can't help yourself and are corrupting a nation :D Not to mention, costing yourself a fort...

Re: Return of the Mac ?

I would say that him returning or not, comes down to the reason why he quit in the first place. He came out at the time and gave public interviews saying that his time had come, time to move on, it was all his decision etc. Was that actually the case, or was his decision made for him by someone else...

Re: Hurling Championship

Just reading the offaly express here and I see this statement at the end: This will be the only round of the Aidan Bracken Building Design SHC played until Offaly’s involvement in the championship comes to an end Surely this can't be true? What happens if Offaly reach an AI semi final, for instance,...

Re: Aidan Bracken Building Design Under 21 Hurling Champions

Congrats to Rynaghs on their win. A fine team and well deserving of their victory. Well done to the fixtures committee for their organising of this competition. I feel that it was a success with a backdoor element giving everyone at least 2 games and sticking to the schedule. It should also be good ...

Re: Hurling Championship

Are either Pullough or ballycumber field up to the standard that would be expected for a Senior hurling championship match, in terms of level surface, size of the playing field, etc. Haven't been in either field in a while, but from what I remember Pullough is a fairly narrow field, or maybe i'm wro...

Re: Aidan Bracken Building Design Under 21 Hurling Champions

Would it be possible to get odds on an underage local game like this in a bookies? Personally, I don't think that it is right and I feel that gambling in general is an area that the GAA should try to tackle. It is up there with cigarettes and alcohol as a problem area and I feel that none of these s...

Do you know if there are still tickets available?

Re: Tullamore Tribune Revelations

I thought Niall Smith had to leave the panel due to work commitments a few weeks ago. How, all of a sudden, is he able to return so quickly now? Maybe Tom Coffey wrote a note to his employer or maybe it had nothing to do with work commitments at all and the general public was just fed a line. Throw ...

Re: tom coffey new offaly manager

Isn't Phil O Reilly the new manager of the Tullamore Senior Footballers this year too? Similar situation with Tom Coffey, in that the Tullamore club schedule is now surely going to have to be built around the county team. While that is unfortunate for the club players, if he is going to give the cou...

Re: Offaly Minors

This is a no win situation for the management team here. There are arguments for and against emptying the bench. To be honest, I wouldn't read anything into tonight at all.

Job done, move on to the next match. nothing to be see here.

To be honest Townman, I think that is a two way street too - I don't think anyone here is interested in logging in to read 2 contributors name calling on the site. I'd save that for PM'ing if ye want and keep the forum for less personal matters .
