Re: Rhode V Kilmacud
Radio 3 should get rid of that Russsell lad.... he's a clown and an embarressment. All local radio stations have idiots commentating but its safe to say this fella has been the worst in Ireland for 15 years now. I suggest they continue to send him to the games and unplug his mic and let him roar awa...

Re: Rhode V Kilmacud
Rhode have nobody to blame but theirselves I'm afraid. This was a great chance for Offaly football gone. My Thoughts: 1st half: Rhode played the most slick football seen in Club Championships this year. The speed of the attacks and quick ball into the forwards was a joy to watch. Totally dominant in...

Re: Rhode V Kilmacud
Lets just agree on one thing and that is that Rhode win on sunday. It would be a huge lift for Offaly Football in my opinion one not seen since Tommy Lyons involvement. I know a few lads taking Rhode at 9/4. I'm a bit more cautious and am taking the +3 at 5/6, I think thats a certain bet. I honestly...

Re: Rhode V Kilmacud
When I went to school we were always told that by our teacher (who was over the underage teams) that Matt Connor was the greatest ever footballer that Offaly produced and there would unlikely be anybody better ever! Connor is always spoken of in this regard. I've seen plenty of Matt on video and I c...

Re: Rhode V Kilmacud
Niall is a far better player than Matt Connor was. Our own Frank Weir broke that Matt Connor myth a long time ago.

Re: Rhode V Kilmacud
Odds of 4/9 do not suggest a cakewalk. In fact it means the bookies think Kilmacud will win by 2 points. I expect Rhode to win myself so taking them +2 is that way to go. The only concern I have is that they might put in a poor performance....it has happened in the past on the big stage. However I f...

Re: First indication of football panel for 2009
I have a few reservations about that team above but I fully suuport calls for Keenaghens inclusion. I'd like to see Sean Ryan there as well. Himself and young Darby would be an explosive combination. Lets abandon the handpass and run at these defences like Malone did in '97 and '98.

Re: Vincent Teehan with Daly in Dublin
Didn't know Teehan was involved. One thing I do know is that Daly must be getting well looked after to take up that role. Dublin are no good. They just keep falling short and now with Galway (and even Antim on board) they will go back further I reckon.

Re: First indication of football panel for 2009
Have to disagree with you there Shark! Rhode have a much more stable base than any of the other teams. Niall would get about 30% less ball to begin with if he were playing for anyone else. Its debatable if Niall is as good as our own Frank Weir. At his peak 5-6 years ago I would say Frank was an all...

Re: New Jerseys Please - A call to all Fans
1. No need for the green strip down the side. 2. No need for the yellow stripes on the sleves. 3. No need for crests on the sleves. One crest on the chest is enough for any jersey. 4. No need for the green line at the top and bottom of the white. 5. No need for anything on the collars. If none of th...

Re: All Ireland u21 1992 on youtube
I'm very well up on the happenings on the hurling scene in Offaly. I've played in both Laois and Offaly. Sean Og Farrell is still playing (suspended at the moment) and has been one of the best hurlers in Offaly for the last 10 years. He was never given a proper chance on the county team due to the s...

Re: John McIntyre - new Galway manager
Great news for Leinster hurling this. John is an intelligent man but simply cannot motivate a team. I always liked his matter of fact attitude but hated how pessimistic he could be at times. Hopefully this will put Galway hurling back a few years .
