Re: U20 football championship draw

Totally with you on this one, Lone Shark. It's ridiculous that people are making an issue out of this. Have ye nothing else to be bothered about?

Re: 2018 NFL

Well done to players and management for retaining Division 3 status. There was obviously a lot of hard preparation put in after the Sligo game in order to achieve that performance and result on Sunday. Wallace has said he is open to adding to the panel. I wonder will any of the lads who are travelli...

Re: 2018 NFL

Question. Would Offaly have beaten Sligo yesterday if Pat Flanagan was still manager? Please discuss. I have little doubt that if Pat Flanagan was still in charge we would have beaten Sligo. Remember, we beat them away last year. Yes there were deficiencies last year, particularly in the second hal...

Thanks for sharing that article, LC. Essential reading for anyone concerned about the direction the GAA is taking.

No sign of suckindiesel. It's one thing talking crap on your own forum. It's quite another coming into an opposition forum and talking it.

Re: 2018 NFL

I totally agree SD it was crazy leaving it that late to call off the match. Surely the pitch was unplayable at 8.30 this morning and there was no prospect of any great improvement in the weather. How come the games at Sligo, Iniskeen and Cavan - all less northerly venues - could be postponed with re...

Re: 2018 NFL

Like Jimbob I think there should be more than one Offaly-based selector. Having said that, I am doubtful that they could unearth sufficient talent to make a significant improvement to the squad. The loss of key individuals to injury, retirement and travel abroad seems to have taken the heart out of ...

Re: 2018 NHL

Also, saw this on Twitter. https://t.co/uOtJeGrRQ6 Tweeted by POTH. I wasn’t sure where to put it. Brilliant article by Martin Brehony - a man mocked betimes on this forum. It's ridiculous that there is one standard for Munster teams in the new championship format and a different one for 'Leinster'...

Re: 2018 NFL

Shocking display today. Judging my that performance we have regressed since last year. All the old failings were evident: lack of physicality, inability to win our own kickouts, no strategy to win breaking ball. But added to that there seemed to be no coherent gameplan and the workrate was poor. Pla...

Re: 2018 Bord na Móna O’Byrne Cup

Cian Johnson from Ferbane made his intercounty debut today. I wonder is he the first player to play for Offaly having never started a senior championship game for his club. Or are there others that people know of? By all accounts he played well and is a hugely promising player. Best of luck to him a...

Re: Offaly SHC

Very proud of Belmont they gave it everything. They just could not make enough use of possession in the second half and missed a couple of decent chances towards the end. They were unlucky too in that early in the second half, when they would have expected to build on a very good first half performa...

Re: Offaly U14 Hurlers Skillful,Determined and Tough

I think beating any Kilkenny team is to be welcomed at this stage. It's important to acknowledge the few people who are putting in an effort at underage and for the County Board to give them the necessary back-up and resources.

Re: A chance for atonement - Westmeath v Offaly, Leinster SH

Very exciting game in which Offaly showed great character to pull it out of the fire. Dismal first half performance where we were dominated around the middle third. We lacked physical presence in midfield but the introduction of Paddy Murphy at half-time made a huge difference and was instrumental i...

Is St Cynoc's Terrace the one out beyond the Church on the left hand side as you head towards Belmont?
That's it, POTH.
