Re: Offaly Minor Football 2014
Agree with everything Substandard said and I'd have the very same questions about the tactical set-up on the evening. I thought we set up far too defensively, inviting Dublin onto us. When we did win possession we got corralled into our own half. I also could not understand some of the positional sw...

Re: Offaly v Longford
I agree with everything DAF said. Our inability to win breaking ball around the middle was atrocious. We conceded far too much possession to Longford and didn't have the physical power or tackling/defensive nous to win it back or stop Longford attacks. On the positive side Offaly played some good at...

Re: Offaly Minor Football 2014
I was very impressed with the Offaly minors last night. It was so refreshing to see an Offaly side play with purpose, sharpness and pace. Paschal has this outfit working well as a team; the support play, off-the ball movement and use of the ball was excellent. Added to that they showed hunger and co...

Re: Offaly v Kilkenny
For the players to preform they need the structure, a plan and belief. All of these are missing. The structure is the county board problem of the most part. The plan and belief are the management team problem. Its must be impossible for the players to training well knowing that the management team ...

Re: Football League Division 3 2014
Just to acknowledge Offaly's draw against Fermanagh at Brewster Park. The report in the Irish Independent described the game as 'fiercely contested'. This gives some grounds for encouragement. It would have been easy for Offaly not to bother given the fact that they were already relegated after a po...

Re: selling out to Rupert?
Kilkenny v Offaly is the first game for Sky! Whatever about paying in to watch this game I certainly wont be paying to watch it on Sky! As Paul Rouse said on Drivetime this evening this is not just the thin end of the wedge it's a good bit up the wedge. It is extremely concerning that people will b...

Re: Mother claims GAA ‘bullying’ her child
I think you are missing something here LS. The article says sanctions were proposed against the lad. It doesn't say whether these sanctions were imposed but, regardless, he is bound to feel hurt as he felt he was doing nothing wrong and, as he sees it, is being penalised for playing a game he loves....

Re: Brolly and his rant
I totally agree, Brolly's outburst was way over the top. Being from Derry have would have a grudge against Tyrone so this was a perfect opportunity to have a go at them. Added to that, his inability to not be the centre of attention! His personal attack on Sean Kavanagh was disgraceful and RTE shoul...

Re: Ollie Baker
A phone call to Liam Sheedy might not be a bad idea considering how complimentary he was to Offaly on The Sunday Game and if he says no due to work commitments or whatever how about Donal Óg Cusack? I would presume he would be mad to cut his managerial inter-county cloth. He certainly would bring a...

Re: Offaly v Waterford, SH qualifier, 22nd June 2013
Id like to see a pipe band at the next game , I thought it was badly missed the last day and would add to the atomsphere in the ground and great to hear Amhran Na bhFiann been played by a band. I could be wrong but is there not a band in Mountbolus that used to provide music before the big games. M...

Re: Offaly Vs Kilkenny Leinster Hurling Championship
Well done to Offaly on a very good performance. I was one of those critical of Baker but yesterday he had the team very well prepared. We started out with a gameplan, matched Kilkenny physically, never let them settle of the ball, and competed well in the air. Chris McDonald and Colin Egan were supe...

Re: Allianz-Hurling-league 1B
I know this wont go down to well but for me Baker has to go. He shouldnt have got the job in the first place, get someone in now and let them prepare for next year because we can write this year off straight away. There is no bond between the players , heading to Antrim next week end fighting for o...

That's a huge blow for Kilcormac-Killoughey losing their stand-out player, and for the lad himself who will miss the biggest game of his hurling career.

Re: Allianz FL Division 4 2013
Very poor performance today. Far too many basic errors, with the ball being given way on countless occasions. This meant we could not get any momentum going and confidence suffered as the game went on. Mickey Brazil was the only one who could be happy with his display. The continuing inability to wi...
