Re: Minors hurlers 2022
I thought these days that an event of this nature where they expect more than 75% capacity to be met had to be all ticket. In this instance under 16s don't need a ticket so is it not out of the question that 10,000 under 16s could turn up? At what point will they stop admitting them? At this stage t...

Re: Minors hurlers 2022
What time on Friday evening do the Bracknagh crowd want to come down to South Offaly for the workshop on the rules of hurling? Just a refresher course pre final. Ah your grand Frank shur we can go the short trip to Killeigh for that these days no need to go further afield. Appreciate the offer all ...

I'm not convinced Nowlan Park is the most suitable venue......will there be enough parking for all these bandwagons?Bord na Mona man wrote: ↑Mon Jun 20, 2022 9:09 pm Nowlan Park is closer to Birr than Tullamore is and easier to get to!
Allegedly.

Re: Minors hurlers 2022
I’d be confident it will be the curtain raiser to the All Ireland Q-Final between Clare and Wexford (presuming Wexford beat Kerry) and it will be held in Thurles. Fairly sure Frank that there is some rule (written or otherwise) that minor matches no longer go on the same bill as senior matches. Bas...

Re: Offaly Senior Football Team - Championship 2022
Jesus, that’s expensive. As a point of reference tickets were available for the Heineken Cup final at the weekend for as low as €19 per adult. When you consider that a fill of petrol or diesel is costing around 20 Euro more today than it did this time last year it's easy to see how people will thin...

Re: Offaly Senior Football Team - Championship 2022
20 Euro admission Saturday is too much in my opinion for a 2nd tier competition 1/4 final. This Tailteann Cup should be a tenner in up until the semi's. People are also complaining about the 25 Euro admission for round 1 of the qualifiers in the All Ireland. It's all ok if you have the money but jee...

Re: Kids dropped from development squad
I believe players individual rights will become a matter of law in the next ten years and any form of discrimination will be illegal, I see. So what about the players discriminated against by not being picked for the development squads in the first place? Where do you stand on that type of discrimi...

Re: National Foothall league Div 2 predictions
Can anyone explain the Talteann Cup format? I can. 2022 Decent media coverage. 1 x first round and quarter final game on TV. 2 x semi on TV. Final on TV. Semi's and final played before major games in Croke Park. GAA hail it a massive success. 2023 Less media coverage. Just 1 x semi and final now on...

Re: Kids dropped from development squad
Lads have been on here for years bemoaning the fact we didn't have proper dedicated development squads and how everything was half arsed within the county. Now we have them in place and the same lads want them to be run in a half arsed manner! What would be acceptable? Allow players miss a maximum o...

Re: National Foothall league Div 2 predictions
I think it’s a bit of a misconception that Offaly will definitely play Dublin in O’Connor Park if we beat Wexford. Only once since Dublin went on the road for their opening game have they actually travelled to the home venue of the opposing team. 2016 Dublin 2-21 Laois 2-10. Nowlan Park. 17,000 201...

Re: National Foothall league Div 2 predictions
Jimbob you make some valid points in fairness. My problem is not exactly with the Tailteann right now, it's more with what this will eventually lead to. Most intercounty players still look to the championship with excitement. That trip to Portlaoise or Navan on a fine Sunday afternoon in front of 5 ...

Re: National Foothall league Div 2 predictions
One last thing as for Niall McNamee different Gravy , he's actually playing better now then he did 5 years ago...looked super fit and sharp yesterday I've an idea. I think the CB should take some of the "expenses" currently being pumped into the senior backroom setup and give it to Nialle...

Re: National Foothall league Div 2 predictions
Anton had a great 20 minutes kicking 3 good scores and dispatching the retaken penalty. I wonder does this suit him coming in with 20 to go? It lessons his time to bogged down in the funny business with opponents and he is concentrating on making the most of his time on the pitch. Interesting point...

Re: Offaly Hurlers 2022
Apparently Antrim have made it known Neil McManus won't be hurling against Offaly. I don't believe them. We've been here before, Antrim told everyone McManus wouldn't be hurling against Offaly in Birr in 2018. McManus hurled, led Antrim, and Antrim won. Like, if it was true, why would Antrim give O...
