If I may.... Pauric Kelly - 7. Little enough to do, as indicated by LS report above. Dealt comfortably with the high balls, which is a bonus, and closed down JP Rooney well, forcing the blaze over the bar in the second half. Cathal Daly - 8. Cathal was having a great game, and had Stanfield in his p...

All true Lone Shark. I should have said, 'in those situations where he must jump'.

He is not at fault for the goal yesterday, and it was good to see him coming decisively for a few of those dropping balls. Because of his size he is going to need the likes of Conor Evans to shield him from taller forwards, and he needs to punch the ball hard away when he is under pressure. He could...

Couldn't believe that the Michael Donnellan run won it. There was an equally good run on Saturday by the Galway corner back that led to a goal directly when he handpassed it off. As you say, Donellan's wasn't even the final pass before the score. Great run but the most memorable moment??? Hardly, co...

It was a weird atmosphere alright. I was sure Da would have to move on somewhere else if we got into Championship Oooo-Faaallly mode, but the atmposphere was fairly muted so he was OK. The Laois game might be a different story :) The Louth lads behind were good craic. Your man that was getting frust...

Sharkie

Looks like the Shark will have to be treated to a repair patch. He's looking a little deflated there. I definitely think the Jersey will have to go on him as well. You must have a spare Lone Shark, seeing as how you were the only one in Navan with the new crest jersey. Go on, fire it on him. I think...

Where were ye? I was looking for ye. I thought ye'd have the giant flag or something flying? I was sitting beside Gooch's father. Fierce nice man. He was waxing lyrical about Matt Connor, and was delighted when I introduced him to Willie Connor, who was sitting behind us. They had a great auld chat.

Shark AWOL?

Hi Lads, where did ye go to on Saturday? I was looking for ye and saw no trace. Did ye get lost on the way down, or decide that the inside of a local hostelry was a better place to be? As regards the game itself, the conditions were appalling, wind wise, but I thought Offaly did OK for about 50 minu...

Hardly shocked them.

I heard Niall Mac was carrying a groin injury. Good to see he's fit.

Cards

Interestingly enough, despite preventing Cynical fouling being the reason for this new Sin Bin, of the 6 people carded yesterday, only our own Red Rum, Conor Evans was a defender. Dessie Dolan and Jimmy Coughlan wore 15 Joe Fallon and that other westmeath lad were 10 and 12 and Rory O'connell was 8....
