Re: Accountability

Point taken townman. a fine hurler and without doubt one of the greatest i ve ever seen. Doesnt always transfer to management. I was at the offaly/mlr challenge game a few wks back and was on the side of the offaly panel/mentors. Not a voice to be heard for the 80 mins. Thought it strange. And this ...

Re: Accountability

lads, people have been pointing out things in offaly for a minimum of 10 years now, yet it hasnt changed. I m left 7 years now and the cracks were ther for all to see before then. I personally think ye need to get away from the old boys menatlity in the hurling - employ proper coaches/managers form ...

Re: OFFALY UNDER 21 HURLING

not a great result alright but you wouldnt know how well westmeath are going in terms of things. you must remember that the have produced leinster B winners in senior colleges grades in the past few years - all would be gone admittedly, and are going well enough in some junior grades too. I pointed ...

Re: OFFALY UNDER 21 HURLING

Joe bloggs, it was one loss. Rather stupid to suggest birr drop down to B based on one result. Good counsel lost to dublin south by 8 22 to 1 6 or something similar in the same comp so hardly panic stations just yet.

Re: OFFALY UNDER 21 HURLING

We ve spent a good few pound on our training centre in carlow - i m not sure if any of ye were at the recent mlr/ofdaly challenge. I was sceptical when it was mooted at first. We ve 6/7 floodlight pitches already down here. But seeing it in full flight now with all 3 pitches lit up at night warms th...

Re: OFFALY Hurling 2014

They pulled a bit on the ground alright. At times they could have gone down on the ball. Poor decisions at times to do it. No success from it really apart from moving the ball to at best another 50/50 situation. I rem one mlr ground stroke - other than a flick out, whereas i rem a few offaly ones. S...

Re: OFFALY Hurling 2014

Yes indeed, you could indeed "face her for mount Leinster" easily from where we were.. In the centre of excellence in fenagh. 3 floodlight pitches on the go last night which is a great sight.

Damien egan f/b
Goals? Jayus! Missed the first parking the car! I think currams and dooley got a few between them. Mahon also. Another was a long ball into the square that got a flick to it. Mlr wouldnt have been over happen with some of the defending.

Re: OFFALY Hurling 2014

Offaly 6 13 Mlr 1 21 Great 80 mins of hurling in fenagh tonight. High enough tempo and plenty of timber. The 6 goals would suggest a rampant offaly attach but 3 were poor from a defensive point of view for rangers. Offaly had a starting line up of - i might be wrong here and there as subs came in wi...

Re: OFFALY Hurling 2014

Hi men. What sort of team had ye/wmeath out? Weather or not, ye surely should be pasting these? we bet them handy minus prob 8/9 starters imo and should have been 7/8 pts better off also. Not saying we re better than ye or anything but not an eyebrow raised at only a 1pt in over these yet an inquiry...

Re: Schools hurling

No. I didnt think fitness was a huge factor myself. St marys has a physically stronger team especially at 6 & 8. And these lads could hurl. 2 lads 6ft sort of size. Banagher probably had more possesion but st marys got key goals. The breeze was a factor too. I dunno does fitness be a real issue ...
