Re: Personal Attakcs on Individuals
I agree with the opening poster and the one above from Don Hurley. I still have fond memories of Offaly scaling the peaks of All-Ireland glory, and I have grown to accept that it may never happen again. But if it does, it will be because a new band of young men (or women) will have sacrificed more o...

Re: Leinster Under 21 Football
Two excellent away wins speaks more for this team than I could manage. Isn't it just great to see an Offaly team show the type of effort that is all we really hope for. Congratulations to all involved. If some around here (like me) are not based in the Faithful County any more and might not be famil...

Re: Offaly All Ireland Referees
I thought Brian Gavin did well overall, and I wont quibble with his added time either. Weren't there a few subs brought on right at the end of normal time, which would take up a bit of time and be AFTER the notice for planned additional time had been put in? So he was bang on. Also I've seen very li...

Re: RTE commentary
I agree with the main Commentary comments. Carney is not impartial, and does miss details. Marty is not as bad as Ger Canning (who I cant stand at all) as Marty does manage to show a bit of enthusiasm for the game. But he can be too patronising at times too. I did flick over to BBC a few times, but ...

Re: SFC Qualifier Draw - Offaly vs Tyrone
Nice of the Indo to listen to half of the Radio report and miss the bit about the counties "seeded" for Home draws. Tyrone are not what they used to be, so we shouldn't write this off at this stage. Who would you fancy in a Kildare v Tyrone face-off? Will the Red-Hands be tougher opponents...

Re: Offaly Vs Kilkenny Leinster Hurling Championship
Plenty of pride restored in the Faithful County again this week. Well done to our fine band of Hurling brothers. It cant be easy to go into a match like that where nobody outside the county gives you a chance. No matter how many times a manager tells you that you are not beaten before taking the fie...

Re: LSFC v Kildare
This performance did restore plenty of pride in the Faithful Footballers. Right up to the end, even when I could see some of our lads were completely spent of energy, I could still see them willing to try and that is what we hope for. My head is held high and I am looking forward to the Qualifier dr...

Re: LSFC v Kildare
I'm not looking for them back, but I'm just wondering if the "Three Amigos" are still off the panel? Will this mean Brian Connor moving out to midfield? That would be unfortunate as he is one of our few scoring threats, but I suppose a midfield base doesn't have to mean you cant or wont sc...

Re: LSFC v Kildare
I'm not so sure about Kildare's goal scoring threat, or that they will punish fouls too effectively. My most confident expectation about Kildare is that they will kick about 20 wides, and the only help they need to do this is a basic level of pressure being put on the shooter. Up front they now have...

Re: Offaly Vs Kilkenny Leinster Hurling Championship
A great piece of publicity being staged by Offaly GAA along with this match; it's nice to see Offaly GAA making good headlines for a change. http://thescore.thejournal.ie/offaly-gaa-to-try-to-break-ham-sandwich-making-world-record-for-charity-923215-May2013/ On the more serious matter, I don't know ...

Re: Allianz FL Division 4 2013
First things first - well done to the team on a credible performance. We were within striking distance at the end. We competed fairly well overall and could have won, which would have been a bonus given that the main aim (promotion) had already been achieved. Midfield is our biggest problem. I don't...
