Re: Leinster Under 21 Football
Well that was my first time seeing the U21's in action and I had been looking forward to seeing them in action and Peter Cunningham in particular. However being just 1 point ahead at halftime after playing with a stiff breeze meant a huge task ahead in the second half. Meath were strong in the centr...

Re: NHL Wexford v Offaly 21 february 2014
Quirke had two hamstring injuries in the past 6 months and this probably explains why he didn't get a look in on the UL team either

Re: NHL OFFaly v Laois 16 february 2014
So depressing. However we should try and look (hope) for the bright side. Laois have apparently being doing savage training and were obviously much fitter. Also they have been together as a unit for a full year more than Offaly. Their fielding was a joy to watch but what struck me most was the fact ...

Re: OFFALY Hurling 2014
Currams only played the 1st half I think and scored a nice point but overall did not impose himself on proceedings. Could be because of his positioning at centre forward maybe?

Re: OFFALY Hurling 2014
Regarding the size of the squad it will obviously have to be trimmed for match days. However I did overhear someone saying the training squad will remain at its current size for the moment so at least lads are not being ruled out just yet.

Re: Schools hurling
I had a young lad playing for Ard Scoil against Banagher in the semi. Wasn't at the match myself but from what he says (and he is usually spot on) the winning of the game was the full forward who bagged two goals in the first half and did what he liked. Banagher ran out easy winners but the thing th...

Re: Fr Manning Cup
A neighbour of mine in Dublin whose son is on the Dubs team at this age group was telling me about this Offaly team. They have met a few times over the years and last year Dublin beat Offaly. The Dub management were delighted with this win as they rate our lads very highly. He also said that OY had ...

Re: SFC Qualifier Draw - Offaly vs Tyrone
Lads, a bit of perspective might not go astray here. We only aimed for promotion from Div4 and to give Kildare a right rattle with a fitter, more hardworking team than last year. Job done! Tyrone on the other hand were targeting the AI champs in their backyard secure in the knowledge that they have ...

Re: Offaly v Waterford, SH qualifier, 22nd June 2013
Very disappointed but not surprised at how last nights game unfolded. We hurled with energy while Waterford hurled with control. I am sure the game will be forensically analysed here so I wont bother going into it in too much depth but I was sick at one tactical booboo which I felt cost us the game....

Re: Allianz FL Division 4 2013
Agree that we only had 2 forwards - presume all would agree that they were McNamee and B Connor. Very disappointed with the sideline. Alan Mc subbed on 55 mins in an obvious preplanned move - should have been much earlier. Meantime Anton had been signalling to the line for some time that he could no...

Re: Allianz-Hurling-league 1B
I don't agree with those who think Dublin were toying with us. It seemed to be more that they had a plan and they stuck rigidly to it even when it didn't seem to be working at times. It involved a lot of passing backways and sidewards and maintaining possession at all costs. This was frustrating the...
