Re: Offaly Senior Hurlers 2024

Well each to their own but the game is more physical now without a doubt, lads are way bigger stronger and harder hitting, there is actually more tackling and proper skilled tackling, the difference of course is the hitting is fair and skilled.. you're mixing it up, the game wasn't "physical&q...

Re: Offaly Senior Hurlers 2024

I could safely say some lads in here don't go to games enough or don't see what's going on in front of them. I said here weeks back while there is signs of improbment we still have huge strides to go before been competitive with the top teams. We can't expect so much from lads who at the end of the...

Re: Offaly Senior Footballers 2024

Going by Offaly Twitter, Duffy was injured. Good performance. Credit where it is due. All over field, Offaly were better. It was probably our best team out there from 2-12 and strongest by distance so far this year. That created the chances and we won well as result. It is just a pity it has taken s...

Re: Offaly Senior Footballers 2024

Fairly strong team. Jack O Brien will be disappointed to lose out. Thought he was excellent v Westmeath on Ronan O Toole and he will get more chances to show his worth. Interesting to see Hogan at 7. There might be bit of reshuffle with either Furlong or Dempsey as Hogan would be more used to playin...

Re: Offaly Senior Footballers 2024

Cian Farrell dropped and has left the panel arguably the best forward in the county NIGEL Dunne dropped for tonight’s game too as I said earlier this team was known the last few days. All is not well in the camp It will come out in the wash what’s going on there the last few months So sounds like l...

Re: Offaly Senior Footballers 2024

Just because a lad gives away ball few times does not mean he was sulking surely. Fair enough he wasn't his normal self but maybe there was more to it than we know. He is surely trying to not lose the game. He has been consistently one of our best players over last 3 or 4 years. Sulking is the wron...

Re: Offaly Senior Footballers 2024

How they lost from that position is beyond me. We were coasting and should have seen it out. Clare owned ball and waltzed through us in last 15 mins like a knife through butter. There were good things for lots of game albeit Clare left chances behind too early in game - and again towards end with so...

That's a bizarre call if true. I'd see him as one of our main forwards and certainly deserves to start ahead of some others.

Re: Offaly Senior Footballers 2024

Huge game on Sunday for Offaly in game where they need to get a result - at least a draw and hopefully a win. A loss would see us likely to lose 4 in a row as we have Down up next, which will likely heap more pressure on manager. The team announced shows the same 6 backs as the last day with Bracken...

Re: Offaly Senior Hurlers 2024

Some over reactions here are most amusing. We need perspective. We are a work in progress. Couple of young lads getting blooded. Main priority for them should be retaining Leinster U20. That will not be easy. Re seniors, Waterford was a solid performance that we faded in for last 10 mins or so. To g...

Re: Offaly Senior Footballers 2024

very true. If previous managers had got that result, there would've been more questions. Maybe it is acceptance of where we are or else people are slow to go in hard on a 'developing team' and local manager. Not sure what the mood is in the camp but it is always going to be hard with 2 losses from 2...

Re: Offaly Senior Footballers 2024

Anybody there with any thoughts. Coverage on 103 was very poor to say the least. Very little info from the game on local radio.

Re: Offaly Minor Football 2024

I'd suggest that if Birr was a school of its size with an all boys population, they would be competing well in A schools hurling. I think it is only breaking even for Colaiste Choilm to be getting to a quarter or semi final of A schools football. They have almost a monopoly on the talent in the area...
