Re: Minor Football
Curious as to the impact of 2020 season running into 2021 will have on 2021 crop. Do Offaly start to plan for 2021 with 2 squads running side by side? Do they hold all activities for the new crop until the 2020 side are done? Do new management teams get appointed (even if it is just reinstating the ...

Re: Offaly Hurling 2020
Whether we like it or not, restarts are a key component of hurling. Worryingly, Offaly won just 46% of their own puckout. Just curious what you define as a restart from a stats point of view? Is it puckouts only or would it include all of the other ways of restarting a game like a line ball or a lo...

Re: Amalgamations
I would imagine CRC would go in at Senior B, to replace CR. Just my opinion, but the amalgamation should always replace the highest ranking club in the amalgamation. The 'Daingean' team should be Intermediate. Great base for them to make a run at climbing the ladder.

Re: Standard of Senior club hurling in Offaly
Ever read the rule book? Rule 1.1 states "The ball is in play once it has been thrown in or pucked, after the referee has given a signal to start or restart play, and it remains in play until..." Puckouts, not restarts! Please call them puckouts, please. You were referring to puckouts in ...

Re: Standard of Senior club hurling in Offaly
Couple of things: I would have thought the ball is in play much more, quicker restarts and the like. Don't be fooled by extremely lengthy puckouts. They are actually counter productive. The practice only leads to half-forward lines pushing too far upfield and causing crowding. And results in too mu...

Re: Kehoe Cup 2019/2020
Pick your best panel and team with this year in mind and pick next years panel next year. Too much can change in 12 months to be worrying about shote like you hear with Irish rugby and the 4 year World Cup cycle. If the 2 boys still have something to offer this year, then select them. If not then do...

Re: Kehoe Cup 2019/2020
I heard on the radio on the weekend that it was Offaly's decision to drop to the Kehoe Cup for 2020, rather than it being forced upon them based on results, which I had just assumed was the situation. Interesting decision. On the one hand it gives players a chance to get at least a couple of wins un...

Re: Senior A Hurling 2019
Probably the wrong thread, but I’d just like to take a moment to recognise the amazing season that Kilcormac-killoughy are having. 4 adult teams fielded, 3 in semi finals or finals. Could well have teams in the top 4 grades next season which would be unbelievable considering the fact that it is only...

Thank you for clarifying the situation. I'll reserve comment apart from saying that I hope J Kelly is alright.greenairfield wrote: ↑Tue Aug 06, 2019 11:40 am Coolderry played a challenge match v upperchurch a coolderry player struck Joachim. This led to the management resigning.

Re: Next Offaly Senior Hurling Manager
It was a shocking incident, and the club had the opportunity to make a statement that thuggery would not be tolerated. Instead, the club opted not to back the existing management. Quickly appointing Liam Hogan, the club announced via twitter they were "pleased to announce" the new appoint...

Re: Tralee - Relief or Requiem?
But the pressure is all on Kerry – seven days ago they were dreaming of Croke Park – who have seven days to recalibrate and focus on a relegation play off. And they are at home. Written off within their own county where all you hear is that Nick Rackard standard is where they belong; ridiculed nati...
