the open game really didn't suit Birr. Sid was all at sea in last 20 minutes, should have been left on the edge of the square.

thought the ref was ok.

Portumna just had better hurlers around the pakr

Re: The Loan System

Leitrim are scouring the county looking for players. seriously I heard one or two counties picked up new blow ins, gave them a run only to realise they were shite. just because they are from Tipp or Offaly doesn't make them better than the home grown players. Some sort of scholarship system which gi...

Re: The Loan System

only a few counties have bothered with it he's just making sure people know he is against hurling. he'd be afraid Mayo would get a few more decent players from somewhere and start winning things in hurling. instead make people sceptical of these imports so that they won't bother with it. players imp...

All big town clubs need competition for players, supporters and finance in order to get their act together

Without competition for these resources clubs become lazy and are happy with things as they are

a small adult junior football and hurling club in the town would stir things up

Re: Offaly Minor Management A Complete Joke

sometimes its better to have a part time person brought in to run a particular part of an elite set up, or put the plans in place. or even volunteers

the person who is full time is often not eager to take on extra work.

Re: Offaly Minor Management A Complete Joke

agree fully

but always put simple and achievable plans in place to start off - to ensure the people involved are able to carry them out!

each year then add in something extra to improve the plan!

Plan, evaluate, modify

Re: Offaly Minor Management A Complete Joke

you need to expose the better club players to higher standards of coaching and opponents from Under 13 up to minor Start off with very large U13 (end of year), U14 and U15 squads (end of year). The odd numbered squads bring players through for following year narrow down the U16s squad but don't disr...
