Re: FAO: Johnny Flaherty

Guys I dont know about the rest of ye but this post has been a real eye opener for me and fair play to OF for doing so. Jesus, it looks like we cant even compete at underage anymore. When we're getting hammered by Roscommon teams its time to wake up!!. As ye all know, the key to success at senior le...

Re: Big Game Prediction

Guys we only have at most three out and out forwards playing on saturday, if Nialler is kept quiet then where are our scores going to come from?? Personally Im disgusted that two half backs have been picked on our half forward line. We have always been a 'footballing' team why change just to beat th...

Re: Analysis of Longford vs Wastemeath this Sunday

What about the dude behind the goals in the Offaly jersey celebrating every Longford score (Particularly Bardens goal)......what a legend! :D :D :D :D

Re: Football championship

The special 1 aint so special! Those odds are off the wall! As Hocker said, Shannonbridge are in a state of disaray at the moment yet he has them at 30/1. They were hammered by Rhode in the league two weeks ago while Ferbane beat Rhode last weekend. Yet the special one has Shannonbridge at shorter o...

Re: Offaly 1-7 DCU 0-15

Totally agree with RED, midfield is going to be our major stumbling block again this year. Lets not fool ourselves, Offaly dont have a viable midfield pairing for the coming year. We are in big trouble in this area. When is the last time anyone on this board has left a club match in Offaly after wit...

Re: Junior Football Fixtures

Generally speaking LS the Junior scene is pretty well run. I remember going to junior games as a young lad to atch my older brother play and games would be called off on a fairly regular basis due to a variety of reasons. However since Ive started playing at this grade I can only remember two occasi...

Re: GPA Strike Mandate

Im just wondering how much support is out there for the GPA? I for one do not support their stance. Their whole argument is flawed. Im in total agreement with Lone Shark on this one. Players make all of these commitments for the love of the game, not because there is a gun put to their head. There a...

Re: 109 players called up for fooballers 2007/08 season

Can someone please explain to me the reason behind this move? At best theres 35 players in the county capable of playing or at least have the potential to play inter county football at a reasonably high standard. Any regular attendee at club matches in offaly will testify to this. It seems like a wa...

Re: St. Michaels win Under 21 for the 6th year in a row

Just a quick observation.... Rhode have won six U21 county titles and three senior titles in recent years yet they struggle to field two competitive adult teams. Apparently the junior team in Rhode have only won one champ game in three years.Gracefield were due to play them in a junior league final ...

Its not too often I get to say this so...........I WAS RIGHT!! It was tight at the end and Tullamores experience and tradition pushed them over the finishing line!! For the neutral it was a very good game. Shamrocks will be kicking themselves again (ala p keelaghan). They totally dominated midfield ...

For me, Shamrocks have been the best team Ive seen this year. They combined pride, passion and skill in a powerful semi-final performance against Rhode. Lets hope that wasnt their 'final'! But Tullamore wont be easily beaten simply because they have something Shamrocks lack (and its a pretty substan...

Just wondering how ye think Edenderry will do in the senior champ next year? Is Finbar staying on as manager? As much as it pains me to say it but its good to see ye back, Offaly football needs the major town teams to be doing well.
