Re: offalys near misses.

The boot is really been stuck into Oakley and Claffey here. Cant understand it really. Two very honest players. Not the most skilled men on the playing field but they always gave it their all. Claffey was an exceptionally sticky defender. Any big game Birr played you could be sure he'd pick up the o...

Re: Offaly vs. Limerick NHL 28/03/2010

I saw Cordial in the first two rounds of the Championship. He's nowhere near the player he was. He did ok in the two games I saw him in. Against Kinnitty he picked up some loose but didnt threaten like he did in the past when he first hit the scene. Against Shamrocks he won a good few frees but that...

Re: Leinster SFC 2010 - bring on the Royals!

Fair enough Paul Watts, that was very good of him to do that. As for the Meath game, I dont think its a very good Meath side but the Offaly squad is quiet weak. I think we will struggle in far too many areas. The defence is a huge problem area and hopefully they are working hard to address that. Int...

Re: Leinster SFC 2010 - bring on the Royals!

Fair points paulwatts. I agree if he just wanted to play football and is the captain then he is more than correct to concentrate on that. If thats the case of course?? What I question is that he should never have played the game on the saturday night for the county where he sustained the injury. If ...

Re: Leinster SFC 2010 - bring on the Royals!

I am unaware of how he sustained it but a few players from his club said it happened on the Saturday night against Longford and he had informed nobody he was togging out for Offaly. Most likely because there would have been uproar. Cant confirm or deny that, thats just what was said to me. I hope he...

Re: Leinster SFC 2010 - bring on the Royals!

Yes Bord na Mona man is right, full back line needs to be strong under high ball against Meath. Darby would struggle but hes probably the stickiest of the backs on the panel at the minute. Brady seems to be doing well at 3 from what I hear. That is a plus. I agree with you lone shark regarding young...

Re: Leinster SFC 2010 - bring on the Royals!

Any injury worries out of the game?

Dunne wasnt able to play for Shamrock hurlers (strangely) on Sunday through injury, was he substituted due to injury? Who is Guilfoyle? Was he a sub with with Clara last year?

The defence still seems very weak on paper anyway.

Re: who will be offaly senior hurling winner's 2010

I was lucky enough to get to a number of games over the weekend. Great win for Brosna Gaels, full credit to them. I certainly didnt see that happening. Clareen are a strange team, Ive seen them play Tullamore, Shamrocks, Belmont over the last 5 or 6 years and they always struggle. Now Brosna gaels h...

Re: Uibh Fhaili SFC odds 2010

I think Tullamore have alot more talent than WI to be fair. WI play well for eachother and will always be competitive but I still think Tullamore are always hard stopped when they see the finish line.

Shinrone v Shamrocks Shinrone to reverse last years result. Shinrone by 3 Birr v Kinnitty Birr with a bit to spare. 8 points. Seir Kieran v Brosna Gaels Clareen comprehensively. 12 points. Belmont v Kilcormac/Killoughey KK should win well. KK by 8. Lusmagh v Tullamore Not sure but was this fixture a...

Re: who will be offaly senior hurling winner's 2010

Yes Leinsterman and midlansbiffo are perfectly right. Ballinameremans comments are out of line.

Well done to Lusmagh, a small area that has done alot for hurling in the county. A lovely pitch over there which is a credit to the club and the work they do.

Ballinamere could learn alot from them.

Re: Uibh Fhaili SFC odds 2010

I see Pat Flanagan got the Westmeath job. Who is the Clara trainer now? Shamrocks are currently manager less after they had to award a walk over to Ballycumber when they only had 10 or so players at the weekend. I cant confirm that but its what i heard in chatting to a Cloghan man. So id say there o...

Re: the town for the double.!!

They wont win the hurling. They have a good chance in the football. If Clara can win it then any team on their day can. Teams going well so far and to watch would be: Rhode (obviously favourites), Tullamore, Edenderry, and Clara will be there again but they need alot of luck to get over Rhode again....
