Re: Offaly Senior Hurlers 2024
We’d have taken both the result and the performance before the game. Lots of pointers in the game; the amount of consecutive wides KK had early on, the amount of excellent saves Mark Troy made in the last ten minutes, Kiely going off was a huge blow to us albeit we settled well enough again afterwar...

Re: Offaly Senior Hurlers 2024
Going very well albeit Kilkenny had about 7 wides in the first half. But overall hugely positive showing.
Going to be a long second half though.

Re: Offaly Senior Hurlers 2024
Obviously gutted we didn’t get the win but I’m delighted with our first two performances. I didn’t travel to Wexford this evening but I’m sitting here thinking I’m going to go to Nowlan Park in two weeks time. And I’m sure I won’t be alone either thinking that tonight. It’s huge progress and we were...

Re: Offaly Senior Footballers 2024
Anybody there with any thoughts. Coverage on 103 was very poor to say the least. Very little info from the game on local radio. That is a problem with Mids 103 Sports. Turned on mid r3 when I got into car in Tullamore. OffLy game was still playing in Antrim with one point in it whereas Westmeath ga...

Re: Offaly Senior Hurlers 2024
A very credible Offaly display today. The two Stephen Bennett goals were such a killer, especially the first one given it came out of a free that wasn’t lifted. Cillian Kiely’s repeated wides in the first half didn’t help either. Overall, a lot of positives with Ciaran Burke, Jason Sampson, Catal ki...

Re: Offaly Senior Footballers 2024
If we had taken John Furlong’s goal chance it might be a different result tonight. Brilliant run by JF but he had Cormac egan inside and should have given it to him. Think we were a point up at that stage and playing well.
Then of course they went down the field and got their goal. Game over then.

Re: Offaly Senior Hurlers 2024
I see the senior hurlers have declined a ‘holiday’ and will put the funds (60,000 euro reported) into training. Whether it’s a statement of commitment, intent or just a PR stunt, I applaud the team and all involved. It’s a very positive message. UP OFFALY!!! To be honest, I’m not so sure it’s a goo...

Re: JP McManus donation
It'll make little or no difference in the long run I fear. Clubs will squander the money on managers, performance coaches, statisticians and God knows what else for their adult teams. Some of the figures been handed to managers is truely appalling. It surely can't be sustainable. I’ll send on our I...

Re: End of year hurling standings
[/quote] On the point about the changing of the minor grades, there I was flat out wrong. I saw the motion that was up for debate, I knew it passed, and I missed the bit about delaying it for a year. So my apologies for tha t, I already had one club selector ringing me in a small bit of distress ab...
