Re: Offaly u20 2021

he did say 1996, Ide forgive him that maybe with nerves probably, and maybe his demeanour was just that, nerves. He has been presenting a few cups over the last couple of years though so was hardly nervous now if you are at that rung of the Leinster Council and GAA ladder....

Re: Offaly u20 2021

Our own county man who is well up the ladder of the Leinster GAA presenting the cup could have wilted abit and smiled being an Offaly man after all, the lord save us he looked more disapointed than anything...one of the ribbons came off and he looked as if he was going to devour the Offaly captain.....

Re: Poll: Will John Maughan and/or Niall McNamee stay on or leave/retire?

I think Maughan might stay (and he might not) another year, he wont get a higher job with getting Offaly out of Division 3 to Divisions 2, realistically Offaly wont get to Division 1 next year (one never knows) but if we did then Maughan would have recalibrated his manegerial pedigree to be sought a...

Re: Offaly v Kildare Leinster SFC 1/4 Final 2021

Some good posts above...we had extra man for 10 minutes, and 2 extra men then for last 5 minutes, knockout championship..you wouldnt think it was with the way we were messing around over passing and over complicating things with the clock showing time was amoste expired..I cannot get my head around ...

Re: Offaly vs Louth 2021 Leinster Football Championship

LOL Cian Farrell going back to take kick outs :D What I see is Cian Farrell relatively new on panel and has ball hand, looks over his shoulder and Paddy Donegan is on his way, watch Farrells body language as he drops the ball kind of behind himself and bows head bowed..Cian Farrell well capable of t...

Re: Offaly Hurling 2021

I think the defeats of Antrim and Laois are part of a wider issue...Laois are not the team for sure they were under Eddie Brennan, Cheddar is a gentleman and delighted to see him back over Laois, however, Laois have gone back a bit from what I see because Eddie Brennan had them firing well and while...

Re: Offaly vs Louth 2021 Leinster Football Championship

a good win yesterday...I watched this game on the player, I see alot here saying we were the better team, we were in extra time but we came mighty mighty close to bowing out, if Sam Mulroy had nailed that last kick in extra time..we had a bit of fortune for a change, especially with the first goal, ...

Re: Div 3 South predictions & general comment

to turn it around, if it was possible for all other counties to play in Croke park, say once a month, interesting to see would their style of football change and their performances improve, Ime not a betting man, but I would think that the majority of teams would play a more attactive football and i...

Re: Div 3 South predictions & general comment

we loooked very out of our depth on Saturday, Croke Park was huge, we could have got a bus to travel around it looked so huge and the space in it. Offaly and Derry were right to play though, it makes me wonder if Dublin and Kerry and Mayo had to play all their big games outside Croke Park how good w...

Re: Div 3 South predictions & general comment

Think we have goal scorers. Problem last day was creating chances. We couldnt when we didnt have the ball. Niall Mc is a recognised goal scorer and I think Cian Farrell will be one of our best forwards in a long time when he matures. The lad is still only 20 and is a proven goal scorer. Louth will ...

Re: Div 3 South predictions & general comment

tomorrow cant be viewed as a repeat of 98, even if its the same teams...tomorrow is a Division 3 final at the end of the day, 98 was an All divisions final and Offaly certainly stepped up to the mark, beating Donegal and Galway enrroute in knock out stages..I am a bit cautious in predicting Offaly m...
