Re: Management committee
"Damien Coleman is still employed by Connacht GAA and is on fixed term contract to Offaly GAA, I suspect the plan was always that he would step in short term and put plans in place and help with the recruitment of a successor" That makes no sense, you appoint a fella to help recruit another...

"I wonder which players will go wondering in the Offaly team" "Wondering" about what Hans?? Coud it be "I better hit it along the ground or my coach will kill me?" "Why is the briquette factory closing and we bringing in shite for the fire from Germany?" &quo...

Preparing properly and been coached correctly along with game time are what matters. Who are the mgt team of the celtic challenge group?

Re: Management committee
Wasn't much talk about Damian Colman after he started but was announced as appointment for the role. Why appoint a fella to do a job as recruiting for his successor as someone has mentioned?? Or put plans in place for someone else to be appointed to deliver. To be fair its a fairly wide brief. Being...

Re: Offaly Senior Football Team - Championship 2023
I suggest a two-tier Tall Chin cup, with a lower tier for division 4 counties. never said or not saying its a bad thing (yet) but unless an Antrim or Wicklow or Waterford etc. win it, and no disrespect to them counties whom I watch out for week in week out, I just think the gloss will go off of it ...

Jaysus Fairplay...ya don't half put a downer on things! I hope that whoever goes on Sunday enjoys it nd gets behind the team. Its a day out and after the last few years we deserve it. My kids are years going to football matches and were buzzing after it, we has a really lovely evening chatting about...

Bring yer own sambos!
Cans as well. Sur Jaysus we're in the middle of a cost of living crisis.
€25 might seem steep enough alright and family etc. But tis a home game so no great additional expense (for most people).
Also its a double header with Kildare and Louth so is alright from that perspective.

Re: Offaly Minor Football and Hurling 2023
Have to say that was a fair performance in tough conditions last night from the Offaly minors. I will say that Laois looked fairly limited but they hammered Longford the last outing. Against the wind we held our own and Laois missed 3 or 4 points, we easily left 1-02 behind us. No panic, kicked a ba...

Re: Offaly Senior Hurlers 2023
All part of the nonsense game that is the GAA at times.
Why wasn't the venue obliged to be named when county grounds not available before this competition started?
HEADS DOWN AND BE READY FOR THE BATTLE!

https://www.rte.ie/sport/hurling/2023/0410/1376142-75-minutes-11-games-inside-years-first-sunday-game/ Yawn, "We're so great" in RTE. Pure cringe stuff to be honest. Word of advice to RTE, don't bother yer holes with the Sunday Game, so pretentious and light touch. Joe McDonagh, no clip fr...

Re: Offaly Minor Football and Hurling 2023
Very sad news in Laois over the weekend and sincere sympathy to the young lads family and friends. Terrible accident in Galway also.
Will minor game go ahead as planned on Wed, and if so, is it in Faithful Fields on Wed and what time?

Re: Offaly Senior Football Team - Championship 2023
Well done to the team and management. But I don't buy into the fact that Longford is a hard place to go etc. We played perfectly for the first 10mins, got sloppy and were in a dogfight thereafter. We settled and came from 2 down to lead by 2 and next thing from nowhere we concede 1-01. I know we def...

Re: Offaly Senior Hurlers 2023
With a the cofuffle over county grounds etc and safety, I doubt there are any grounds capable of hosting a game like this in Kildare. And if we can't bring a crowd of 2000 after the effort our lads have put in, particularly the last 2 weekends well then I give up. Kildare result was a big shock, and...

Re: Offaly Senior Hurlers 2023
Final point, I don't think any of us are trying to dress anything up, 1) Many of us thought we might struggle to win the league 2) Laois are probably favourites for next Sat (and probably to win the competition) 3) We struggle (and have done for years) to contain the running game other teams now tak...
