Re: Offaly v Wexford - NHL 27/03/2011
Yeah TG4 are showing this game tomorrow night. Should stay up now but it is not 100 % guaranteed. Wexford have Tipp and Cork who are both pretty much out of contention for final spot and might be trying out players in last 2 games. However it would be a big shock if Wex could win both these games. I...

Re: Club Championship Draw
Still waiting to hear about club draw. But here are guidelines. Football Championships · 2 groups in each grade of Championship (Senior, Intermediate and Junior). · Junior B and C Competitions to be formulated when number of teams participating confirmed. · Junior A, B & C to be played on home a...

Club Championship Draw
Club championship will be held tonight at county board meeting. Not exciting as it used to be, but I'm still looking forward to hearing the groups.

BNM Man
Our previous Secretary/PRO (from the Association) would actually also be an ideal man for the job. Must get onto him. If he can't do it this year, he should definitely consider it in the future.

Offaly PRO
Lads, the county board are looking for nominations for County PRO as they didn't fill the position at convention. So here is an oppurtunity for some lad to put his money where his mouth is and get your club to nominate the position, obviously you have to be a club member. The PRO would be in charge ...

Re: When they last won a title
Meant Offaly there obviously.
Not that I should mention Kinnitty and football after what happened this year but Kinnitty won the Junior C Football championship in 2008. They are probably few other teams that also won Junior C like Coolderry few years earlier.

Re: When they last won a title
Rhode won a junior B hurling final 2000. They beat Kinnitty. I was midfield and Pascal Kellaghan roasted me. Also on that Rhode team was a strong Tom Coffey at centre back. Can't remember if any other Offalty footballers played. It is a pity they didn't keep hurling going in Rhode as they weren't a b...

Re: Shefflin out
After the tragedy in Kerry during the week, who cares about Henry Shefflin's will he won't he line out for Kilkenny circus. It keeps the media busy Don't see the point in bringing in the Kerry tragedy. After that tragedy, how would any sport matter to those families or to their communities? I'm an ...

O Connor park will suit Tullamore. I think they'll squeez past Brosna Gaels.

Re: Shefflin out
Yes Power went to St. Pat's but he did Arts there and is not a primary school teacher. Shefflin is an amazing player and it's a pity for his sake that he'll miss the final (and for sake of viewing public not to see him.) However you would have to feel greater sympathy for the likes of Tony Browne an...

Re: Antrim in AI Q/F
Would Offaly have been better off losing to Antrim in the Leinster championship? Losing offered the Saffrons a handier route to the All Ireland quarter final. And they only got this route due to the fact that certain combinations couldn't meet again in the championship. No, if Offaly lost to Antrim...

Re: Offaly Senior Hurling Management
This is a tough one. I wouldn't be overly happy with Joe Dooley and would prefer for him to move on. Some of the selections just didn't make any sense. However, like others I'm terrified of who the county board might get to replace him. There are not many managers out there with top level experience...
