My take on the whole saga. Part 1 - Fundamentals What nobody has pointed out is how we're really not that good anymore at the fundamentals of Gaelic Football. a) Delivering an accurate foot-pass. I'm not talking about a pass into a 'zone' where a lad has half-an-acre to run into. That really doesn't...

Indeed, hats off to Rhode. As Tom has stated, I thought overall Clara shaded the underage games, but that doesn't really mean anything, as Rhode emerged the winners. At senior grade, I think some of the other clubs are starting to believe that Rhode are beatable. And, although I wish them luck in Le...

A very tough game - the conditions were terrible. For me, in summary: - Rhode were the better team in the first half, but Clara the second half. - Both teams defended excellently. I think the fouling by Rhode was quite cynical in the last 10 minutes, but I'm not going to start throwing stones here -...

This is almost beyond belief lads. In fact, I wouldn't believe it but for the fact that you're claiming they also did this last year. I don't remember that happening, but I have read enough on this forum to suggest that Lone Shark is a credible person. Please enlighten me. Why would a club draw such...

I also thought Shamrock's second score was wide - was that Brian Monaghan's effort? Also, did anybody see Thomas Deehan's attempt in the second half, which he (and others) seemed to think went over, only to be waved wide? Joe Quinn had a big game and he certainly is versatile. Hard to call a man of ...

Have to question you on some of those points Redser. The Referee was bad both ways, and I think you'll find that quite a number of questionable frees were awarded to Shamrocks in the last 15 minutes. Both teams had chances to win the game - the better team took them. As for the Ballycumber game, I'm...

Great game of football. Hard at times, but certainly mostly fair. Shamrocks were very close to pulling level in the last 10 minutes. They actually steam-rolled Clara for the last 10 minutes, winning every break around the middle and charging forward, but the Clara backs and goalkeeper stood firm. Ex...

True, true...but it's not the Tommo's and Nialls of this world that we should ever expect to be clockers - we need guys like that out the field where the big 50-50s and breaks are won and lost and where it's a priority to soften guys up and slow them down. At centre-half back and centre forward Cloc...

Contrary to expectations and his reputation, Clocker is an absolute gentleman. I wouldn't mind him interviewing me for the job.....as long as the interview didn't include a shouldering contest! By the way, talk of Ollie Daly, brings a smile to my face...my signature below is one of his famous analog...

I can't claim to know for sure, but from speaking to some of the players, it seems that Doon have been awarded the points. Edenderry are hanging in there.

I thought Pat Roe did quite well with Carlow and then Wexford? I think he's as high-profile as we can expect to get. Is he the first manager we've had with inter-county experience in some time?

Who would get more out of this group of footballers?

Jaysus, thats a fair prediction. Maybe the Ballycumber replay has skewed things a little? I won't argue that Rhode are stronger and they're my favorites too, but I don't think they'll beat Croghan by 18 points....Jaysus...no way. Is Lone Shark the only man that offers odds around here? I'll back Cro...

My recollection is similar. I also thought that the player subsequently became involved in the play leading up to the free-kick. If that was the case, I think Doon must be in with a very big shout for the points. There's no doubt that there are many examples of teams and games featuring '16 players'...

Agreed. I'm sure Doon will want the win here - they couldn't possibly prefer a draw with a greater risk of relegation, just to see Edenderry go down.
