Re: What are they smoking in Birr?

Can I just open a can of worms for this debate also.

Not all the players from that era where actually from Birr? where some of the players not transfer or stolen from surrounding clubs like Crinkle?

Re: What are they smoking in Birr?

love this discussion.. we had the two grounds becuause tullamore clun owned OCP. Offaly GAA own OCP now so why would they host a county final in a clubs ground now. birr had serious advantage in the past playing on their home ground for county finals. I hear Offaly are seeking permission for a centr...

Re: All-Ireland Hurling Qualifiers Round 1 Antrim v Offaly

From what I hear the team won't play as picked. Healion will play @3 with Rory @5 and Brady @6. Currams will play @8 and Mahon @11. Leaving Kenny @14. Dooley will play @15 with Carroll @10. I think it's a joke playing Kenny @14. We be waiting all year for him to come back and play @3. Good to see Eg...

Re: All-Ireland Hurling Qualifiers Round 1 Antrim v Offaly

Thanks azoffaly for the breakdown of how it happened. Still a little bit dodgy. I would agree plain of herbs. The GAA will hardly let a championship happen up there. It wouldn't be fair to travelling fans either. sam88885a - i heard offaly played wexford in a challenge and kenny, healion and egan al...

Re: All-Ireland Hurling Qualifiers Round 1 Antrim v Offaly

Do they definitely have home advantage?

I just heard that all munster teams where drawn first and home advantage has yet to be confirmed?

Re: Round 1 Qualifiers: Offaly v Wicklow

McDonnell has stepped down.

I wonder who will be next to take the poison chalice!!

Think Phil Reilly & Tom Coffey should be givin a crack @ it for 3 years..

Re: Offaly Hurling Championships 2014

Doesn't look good for Killurin.

They where missing Dunne but Shamrocks where missing 4 or 5 of their better players ( Derek Molloy, Karl Mollen, Aiden Kidney, Jimmy Conway and Declan Conroy)

I think it will be between them and Lusmagh to go up.

Re: football championship 2014

The players are not stupid either. They surely knew that training with the Offaly hurlers on a Tuesday before a club championship game on Thursday was the wrong thing to do. Brian Whelan obviously knew this was wrong also. He has no time for the dual player, he made EGAN, MAHON, DOOLEY, RYAN & C...

Re: football championship 2014

That is a stupid statement from Kilcormac/Killoughey. It is up to them to release their players for training with their county team not the other way around. A player should always play with club team first. I wonder how many nights Kilcormac/Killoughey had fixed football for? Is this more that the ...

Re: Offaly v Longford

One plus from the match v Longford is that Niall was on the team of the week How is there any plus from that. individual awards are useless when the team is defeated. We have 8 years or having one or two lads in team of the week after the first round and still yet we lost the game. The only individ...

Re: Eugene McGee on Newstalk about Offaly's current crisis

babsandbond, I also think you are mad saying O Connor park was in top 10 before pumping millions into it. Tullamore was a concrete shambles before the redevelopment. I agree that money should be put into development of players also but your statement on o connor park is ridiculous. Narrowly beaten b...
