Re: Compulsory Hurling Helmets

Actually, I quite like the idea of team coloured helmets.
Conversly, it would be cool to see players with personalised helmets, like motorsport drivers etc. Easy to spot on the field. :)

If it's a rule, then it's a rule. Get on with, it's not going to change.

Junior-B Champions!

Not many here will be over-interested in this but a 27 year gap was filled by Ballycommon when they won the Junior B Final on Saturday, in O'Connor Park. Beating Tullamore 0-8 to 0-7 in a gale force wind which prevented any decent football being played, but Ballycommon out-player & out-fought th...

I'd say it's just a get together before training is banned for November & December. Probably planning gym & personal training regimes. Clara lads will be missing anyway.

Re: Offaly SFC Final: Clara 2-7 Rhode 1-9

Bad weekend for Rhode as their Junior-Bs were beaten by Ballycommon in the replayed semi-final on Saturday.
Good news for Offaly football in general is Rhode not winning the senior. No disrespect meant, but it keeps the competition keener.

The last 4 = The best 4?

Last weekend's demolition of Erin Rovers by Clara, and Rhodes easy win over Shamrocks, asks the question..... is this the best we got? In all fairness to Rovers, they probably had their championship just getting to the semi. The Junior-B match that preceded the seniors was probably one of the better...

Re: Tulamore Intermediates

I agree with LS, in that whether by design or opportunity or just chance, the Town's B's have been enhanced by availability of extra players. I know there's grading of players at issue, so no wholesale fudging can take place, but whatever club you are, you take whatever opportunity comes your way. I...

Re: Tulamore Intermediates

Was at the game last night too, Phil O'Reilly & Paul Rouse looking for more medals? Strange that Philo jacked in the senior managers job yet continues to play with the B's!
That was a poor Daingean effort, so hard to tell how good Tullamore were.

Re: edenderry v shannonbridge

MATCH OFF - Pitch unplayable Offaly needs a centralised all-weather facility like Meath and other counties Totally agree. We need probably 2 full size, all weather, floodlight pitches. The state of the the pitches at the minute are a joke and an insult to players playing at the sharp end of their c...

Re: Tulamore Intermediates

Maybe it's the Townie V Country Lad attitude. They are always struggling it seems to field teams. We blame the Club , maybe a lot of it should fall on the players of Tullamore. They call Clara shapers, well at least you can count on Clara turning up for a match! Hopefully it's a one-off, and ...
