Re: Allianz Hurling League Roinn 1B 2016

So I assume its true that Edenderry have given up adult hurling now. Last I heard they were trying to assemble a panel for 2016 but with no luck. Is this the first time ever in the history of our county that no hurling exists that end of Offaly now? Depressing stuff. No players interested so they c...

Re: Allianz Hurling League Roinn 1B 2016

While there is an element of positivity about our hurlers this year, there are bigger issues at play. I know its been discussed previously but its very relevant. We are in the position now in hurling because on one reason alone. Our underage hurling structures have been mismanaged for years - and h...

Re: What are they smoking in Birr?

Have na fianna stepped up to the mark or is it just because teams this endof the county aren't at the level they were? We are struggling at county level underage so I think that gives an indication on where or players standards are at club level so I would question how strong that Na fianna team wo...

Re: What are they smoking in Birr?

I have refrained from getting involved in this debate but now its getting ridiculous. A Pitch shouldn't determine the success of a team in any sport. O Connor park is one of the best pitches in the country, never mind county! Tullamore is more or less in the centre of the county so every club is no ...

Re: Football Club Boundaries

Good map Been from the North of the county can only comment on that part. Edenderry is too far west. Ballyfore covers from the Canal bridge in edenderry on Tullamore road up as far as the yellow river which is right beside the turn off for Clonbullogue on the Main Edenderry-Daingean road. Ballyfore ...

Re: 2015 Club Hurling and Football draws.

Yep was 2008. Edenderry were back in the Senior Championship after winning the Intermediate in 2007. A goal in the last minute of the last game against Rynaghs meant they stayed up. They needed to win by 2 points minimum to stay up and were level after 60 minutes when Edenderry struck for the killer...

Re: League Quarter-Final Offaly Vs Tipperary, 29 March 3pm

It shouldn't matter where the match is played. It's a pitch with two goals and loads of lines. The surroundings isn't going to magically make a team play better. O Connor Park is one of the top pitches and facilities in ireland. That is why lots of underage all Ireland's are played there and why it ...

Re: 2015 Club Hurling and Football draws.

Junior ‘A’ Football Group 1: Clodiagh Gaels, Clonmore Harps, Kilclonfert, Clonbullogue, Tullamore, Birr, Ferbane; Group 2: Kinnitty, Ballinagar, Clara, Ballycommon, Shamrocks, Edenderry, Tubber. That is some Group in the Junior A. I would of said the Championship between Clonbullogue, Ballycommon, C...

Re: U21 FOOTBALL CHAMPIONSHIP 2015

If clubs are capable of fielding their own team, even if their chances of success are negligible, then of course that's what should happen. I abhor the idea of clubs not making an effort to find fifteen of their own for a championship at this level, however there are plenty of clubs that simply are...

Re: U21 FOOTBALL CHAMPIONSHIP 2015

Hard to Know as Some clubs get thrown together on the day where as others have been training since start of year. Cant rule out vincents but heard Na Fianna are putting in a serious effort. Edenderry have been strong in this grade for past few years and also at Minor so tipping them to win

Re: Killeigh and Killurin

Just spotted this on the hoganstand and kind of relates to some of the things we have touched on in this topic. http://www.hoganstand.com/ArticleForm.aspx?ID=230467 We have Brosna Gaels, hopefully the Killeigh/Killurn amalgamation will be fruitful and maybe another team at underage combined of club...
