Re: Minors hurlers 2022
It’s mad to think there was only one starter between Birr, Rynaghs, Coolderry, Shinrone, Clareen, Drumcullen - traditional hurling clubs. Great to see management are searching throughout the county to get the best squad. Well done to all involved.

Re: Offaly Hurlers 2022
Massive win for this team. Delighted for them, no easy task going down to Tralee and getting a result. All the hard work these lads have put in is paying off. Hopefully they can make the final now and a trip to Croke Park with nothing to lose.

Oh where’s that? Thought it was fixed for O’Moore Park, Portlaoise!Bord na Mona man wrote: ↑Mon May 09, 2022 3:43 pm The coin toss has been done and Maryborough is the venue.
I don't think the venue was going to be a big advantage factor either way though.

Re: Offaly Hurlers 2022
Well it wouldn’t be a shock if we lost. It would be just disappointing. 3 games left are all difficult games. One game at a time - win today would be great for the confidence. All the best lads.

Re: League & Championship hurling 2022
How can Birr object to CRC having an u20 team when it’s nothing got to do with them?? Sounds petty.

Re: Offaly Hurlers 2022
Apparently Antrim have made it known Neil McManus won't be hurling against Offaly. I don't believe them. We've been here before, Antrim told everyone McManus wouldn't be hurling against Offaly in Birr in 2018. McManus hurled, led Antrim, and Antrim won. Like, if it was true, why would Antrim give O...

Re: Offaly Hurlers 2022
Antrim are ahead of offaly, maybe 4 or 5 points ahead. Laois similar. If offaly were to beat either of those two it would be a good year. But offaly will be a year or 2 ahead of other joe mcdonagh teams and should win it out thus year. Offaly u20s look good, nice style of hurling and play to a plan...

Re: Offaly Hurlers 2022
Score definitely doesn’t reflect how this game went. We were well in it and you’d have to be happy with the effort shown by this group of players. Improvements are being made. Long may it continue. I’m not going to go in to our failings. But, as a supporter I was embarrassed with our support. I reck...

Re: Club Managers 22
Bugler is nearly a done deal looking for an additional coach from what I hear and I think you would have to question how Birr struggled so bad against a team like Drumcullen no disrespect to them and then go out and completely destroy the county champions even if it was a noting game for them. So i...

Re: Club Hurling championship
Absolutely correct - club success doesn’t mean inter county success. But in fairness to the comments, I think lads were just saying it’d be a lift to see an Offaly club team do well. I don’t think anyone one would be expecting us to be beating Kilkenny if Rynaghs beat Ballyhale

Re: Offaly Senior Football Championship 2021
If this was any game other than a final the red card wouldn’t have been overturned. GAA have a history of rescinding a red card if it means a player will miss the chance to play in the final. It happened this year in the All Ireland final for Limerick hurler Peter Casey. Not a very good reason. Dub...
