Re: offaly minor hurlers 2015
Lost by around 9 points and a man sent off with 5 mins to go. Haven't got details yet but seemingly raced into a 4 point lead and the first half was very tight

Re: offaly minor hurlers 2015
Best of luck to the minor hurlers today. Into the lions den that is Parnell Park again and hopefully they can take heart from the footballers display last week. Lot of debate in Dublin as to their selection. A lot of first year minors selected and 10 clubs represented but with no player from some of...

I came across this by accident also. Caught feature on Clara with interview featuring Brian Gavin. Not a great interview but worth watching just to ogle the beautiful Laura McCormack. Seriously though it's great to have a forum to feature Offaly and it's people.

Re: Division 4 Offaly Vs Longford
Did we not give them a fierce beating in '97 en route to winning promotion and a Leinster? Could be wrong but seem to remember that

Re: Inter-firm Hurling Semi-final
Speaking of Banagher the schools Leinster B U16 hurling final was played today in Mullingar. A very disappointing game which was effectively over at halftime. Ard Scoil (Marino) we're up by about 8 points and in control after 15 minutes and between then and the break 2 Banagher lads got straight red...

Re: Offaly GAA is in Some State
Good point Old Yellar. Get as many as possible playing and success should follow. A couple of years ago the Nationwide TV programme featured Martin Dunne, a hurley maker in Drumcondra with a Kilkenny background. Around that time there was a clamour for Dublin to start winning at senior level given t...

Re: Offaly Minor Football 2014
Cannot claim to know much about the Dublin camp but their management have been keeping a place for at least one injured player who hasn't featured for them yet. He's a midfielder - Foley I think. There was a lot of movement on and off their panel up to a month or so ago and it's possible they haven'...

Re: OFFALY UNDER 21 HURLING
OMG how did we only lose by 10 points? Wexfords physicality and aerial supremacy meant we won practically no 50/50 battles. We were obviously going to suffer from the lack of preparation but that doesn't explain how some of our lads were obviously not up to this standard fitness-wise. In 2009 I rush...

Re: Offaly Under 12 Hurling Championship
Manfromdelmonte it is not just at U12 that there is a problem. Talking to a hurling mentor from Gracefield I heard that they had problems at U14 level where they fulfilled their fixtures in the league but two South Offaly teams failed to make the return journey. What kind of message is this sending ...

Re: Round 1 Qualifiers: Offaly v Wicklow
I would always head to Aughrim via the Red Cow. It's 50k from there to Rathnew on dual carriageway. Aughrim is another 25k on (bad road). Should be about 1h 15min from Red Cow total but probably allow 1.30 or so because of match traffic. Incidentally if anyone is looking for a good spot for a pint a...

Actually it's more like RIP Offaly GAA.

Re: One good group not enough
A common mistake Hyper however it was definitely the father of Taoism who said it and not Confucius. Another one of his quotes I can relate to as an Offaly supporter is: "If you don't change direction you will probably end up where you are going." This minor squad seem to be very confident...
