Re: Offaly Senior Footballers 2024
Remember Offaly will be warming up at the Canal End, as they always do. Croke Park use an alphabetal order system to ensure Dublin get the Railway End, but Uibh Fhaili is 32nd and last alphabetically so will always have the Canal End side.

They're called the Kinnitty Mountains round here.

Re: Offaly Senior Hurlers 2024
Ah, that's okay. I'd be concerned if Offaly were winning challenge matches. But I actually feel better now.
And Stick Season in Leix - they just like to play the victim.

Re: Offaly Senior Footballers 2024
Great to win that. Gives a boost to everything GAA in the county. So 'well done' to everyone involved. Great to get to play in Croke Park. You can't play there often enough. Obviously Dublin will provide huge challenges. It's been a while since Offaly played a division 1 team, so the step up will be...

Re: Offaly Senior Hurlers 2024
I expect tickets for Ennis will be scarce enough. Portlaoise it is, can watch Klare v Limerick on the Player during the week when I get time.

Re: Offaly Senior Hurlers 2024
It's shocking. Details revealed only yesterday (Tuesday), 11 days before the Saturday. The Meagher, Rackard, Ring and McDonagh cups aren't deemed to be spectator sports, don't have sponsors and as a result there is zero promotion of the games. Why did it take so long to confirm the details of these ...

Re: Offaly Under 20s hurling 2024
U20 and Minor panels have always been 24. Senior panels are 26 for maybe a decade now, having been 30 previously.
Doon Exile wrote: ↑Sat Mar 30, 2024 6:35 am Very strong looking team. What’s the story with Conor Doyle. Has he been injured?
Panels were 24 last year- not sure when/if they changed from 26
2022 minor panel was also 24.

Re: Offaly Senior Footballers 2024
Simple logic alright. Also flawed. Beating the teams below you in Division 3 is very much Division 3 form, not that of Division 4. Anyway, the league is over. Life goes on and so does the football. For me it’s simple. The only teams we beat were relegated to Division 4 so we’re showing Division 4 fo...

Re: Offaly Senior Hurlers 2024
Venues has nothing to do with it. It's not like they have to go to somewhere like Hell or Galatasaray. Away trips won't take a whole day, being at an airport two hours before a flight, and unlike other sports, there's not going to be one game plan when playing at home and another when playing away. ...

Re: Offaly Senior Hurlers 2024
Lookit, this time last year, I'd say Laois were JMcD favourites, having come down from a higher level, and Kerry were second favourites, on the trail of a fourth successive final appearance. In a months time, nobody is going to recall who the ante post favourites were. League form is going to mean n...

Re: Offaly Senior Footballers 2024
No need to panic yet. No need for anyone to get desperate either. There was always a reasonable prospect of Offaly reaching the end of February without any points on the board. That likelihood was considered by Lone Shark on page 3 of this thread late last year. Wicklow and Limerick are in the same ...
