Allied to the loss of talent the duplication of facilities development is ridiculous. All of the small clubs competing for grants and parish donations when a large complex in the centre of the Parish could serve all.

On a positive note Shannonbridge will have the heads up on weather forecasts before the big game. She could commence the team talk by running through some Atlantic weather charts and advising the free taker on wind and air pressure conditions.

Is anyone aware of a book which details the history of Offaly GAA. I know many clubs have completed fantastic historys but I never heard of one for Offaly

I'm positive that it will be voted through at Congress next week anyway and will be forced upon Offaly in 2011 to implement. However it seems there will be no major desire among clubs to implement the policy. This will lead to a further deterioration in the provision of games for underage players.

The Clubs of Offaly in their infinte wisdom decided to buck the National Trend and all the scientific research to vote against the proposal to intorduce the Go Games model at U12 level.............and then we wonder why we are being left behind......Lads we must accept we are a backward people!
