Naomh Ciaran

Today the Ladies won their All Ireland Semi Final to qualify for the first All Ireland Final for an Offaly LGFA Club...………. They did it against a Cork Club who had won both the Intermediate and Senior Club Finals. So it is a fantastic achievement and I wish them all the best in the Final on Sunday 2...

Re: Meeting In Tullamore

To stand the lads have to be nominated first, by a club or clubs. Have nominations opened and who exactly have been nominated ? Speculating without knowing the candidates is hardly productive. A "third" candidate for any of the positions could change the voting pattern. But then candidates...

Re: Intermediate Football 2019

Well done The Bridge...…..

I always had time for them as many lads from Clonmacnoise Parish played with us in Doon when their own club was "asleep" from around 1946 to 1972,,

All the best to them in Leinster...………...

Re: Meeting In Tullamore

If Pairc Tailteann can host county finals then Birr definitely can. And also it was interesting to note all the people stand on a grassy bank at the Antrim county final 10 days ago on TG4. I often think we are the only county that ever adhered to H&S for our grounds. It was a handy excuse for m...

Re: Offaly v Sligo Round 2 Qualifier

I have to admit that I was very nervous about this game remembering losing a good lead to Sligo in the last 10 mins in OCP not that long back. So I was delighted with the display & result. Having Eoin Rigney, Eoin Carroll, Peter Cunningham and of course Niall in the team makes a massive differen...

Re: Additions to County panels Football and Hurling

Players are not owed money by County Board for injuries.

The GAA Injury Fund is there to pay for INJURIES..

The real question for those players is:::: Did they fill out GAA Injury Claim Forms or did they just not bother and expect the rest of us (the County Board) to pay up.

Re: Additions to County panels Football and Hurling

Am amazed at that last post. As a player I never had an injury in my little bit of minor & junior county. At club I paid my own bills as a matter or principle. As a club sec I processed loads of injury fund claims and was under the impression that all injury claims were handled through the club,...

Re: Football Leagues 2019

The Divisons of 8 teams, 2 groups of 4:::::::::Does that mean that club footballers get a guaranteed total of 3 games for the year ? In other sports lads get 18-20 League games (in soccer or rugby)so we want them to play GAA for 3 League (and is it 3 championship) games. Little surprise then that mo...

Re: NHL Division 1B 2019

This episode with the S & C reminds me so much of the footballer who quit because "training was too hard". We are a joke in fitness terms. No way we can start to win , even at our own current level, until our teams are as fit as their opponents and for years we have been way behind, hu...
