Re: offaly senior hurling squad 2012
i see where the Cha was gone from the kilkenny panel wouldn't be a bad one to have, i think with might see him in the Dublin jersey soon. Ah dont be saying that Townman. Those feckers have enough foreigners as it is. Cha's interview seems to have a bit of bite in it and alot of frustration. Maybe t...

Re: offaly senior football team 2012
Hard luck to Cappincur at the weekend. They gave it there all but just came up short. They have had a super year by their standards anyway and still have a young team. As regards county watch, a number of Cappincur players have been mentioned a bit. Having watched them a few times this year includin...

Re: offaly senior football team 2012
It's far to early to B pickn a team to face Kildare next may. Form , team patterns and so on will dictate who starts on the day. However if I was asked to pick what I taught d best 15 in Offaly would be (all playm Wel , not realistic but way d hel ) I'd have d following. 1 k Meehan (v natural n com...

Re: leinster club hurling
Well done to Coolderry on a very well deserved win. In fact they could have won it by a bit more. Boden had a few goal chances that were more due to Coolderry mistakes than actually creating chances. So a alot of work still to be done. Coolderry worked very hard and when some players began to strugg...

Re: Intermediate Football Championship 2011
Assuming a two-week gap between rounds 4 and 5, and another fortnight between round 5 and the quarter-finals, it also leaves that team who don't play in round 5 a four-week gap between their final group match and the quarter-final, if they qualify. That also more-or-less eliminates the likelihood o...

Re: Intermediate Football Championship 2011
I cannot even try give you numbers as Im not from the area originally. I know some of the lads fairly well who have been involved with underage and they have said that there is a gap there where numbers are very very low. Whereas from 16 year olds down is pretty decent numbers wise. But the facts ar...

Re: leinster club hurling
This is a big one for Coolderry. They have alot to prove after last year. At this time of the year it comes down alot to who wants it more. last year Coolderry were shown up because they hadnt the fight in them, that hunger that you need to win in the muck and wet. I think they can win it, they have...

Re: Intermediate Football Championship 2011
No Lone shark, the players just are not there. There is a gap between players currently aged 17 to 22. Not only this year have they failed to field teams but the last couple of years failed to field under 21 teams. That is just a numbers problem. This problem is only being highlighted now when some ...

Re: Intermediate Football Championship 2011
If what you say is true and the club is reacting so badly to going down, then paradoxically, I think that is the perfect statement for why they needed to go down. For whatever reason, Shamrocks club seems to be unable to win championships. They've bottled so many finals that they need to freshen th...

Re: McNamee to kildare
Lads he's not leaving. If he was going to do that he'd be following the path paved with gold up to Dublin and hoping to get an All Ireland medal for himself - but he isn't, so it's moot. The path paved with gold. Well said LS. Plenty of great lads have chosen that path and it didnt work out so well...

Re: McNamee to kildare
Ridiculous story. Niall is a proud Offaly man. The people in the press that print this crap have'nt a clue and filling some space. We should know that on a local level.

Re: Intermediate Football Championship 2011
Midlands Radio 3 have just announced that Shamrocks are to play intermediate in 2012, which I presume has come out from the county board meeting. I had heard this was the county board line, but as far as I was aware Shamrocks were querying it - whether they were going all out with an appeal or not ...

Re: Most unpopular club in Offaly
Jaysus. I'm as hopeful as anyone about Ferbane's future, but so far it's just one minor title. Let's win a few more and maybe an under-21 or two before anyone starts presuming that senior success is inevitable. Back to back titles at under 16 level, Cruising to a Minor title and Gallens All Ireland...

Re: Most unpopular club in Offaly
clara's dominance with football seems to be cumin to and end , with very little succes of late under age it seems that a famine is on the cards for the hawks , while on the other hand ferbane underage dominating nd looks good for seniors of the future :D Dont think I can agree with alot of this. Cl...

Re: Intermediate Hurling
Brosna were full value for their win. They adapted better to the terrible conditions for hurling. It is a shame as some people have pointed out on other threads the big games of the year are played in such terrible conditions. Hopefully there will be a complete revamp of the fixtures schedule. In su...
