Re: Offaly GAA is in Some State

It's now over 5 months since the so called open forum to "restore Offaly hurling to its place among the top hurling counties" It's hilarious to see the same posters writing the same shite year in year out about Offaly's performances in the national league. and it was even more hilarious th...

Re: 2015 Walsh cup

I disagree regarding the minor teams over the past 11 years. we have had lots of really good teams and potentially really good players. what we haven't had is proper structures in place at underage to develop these players correctly and also we have had the wrong people managing the hurling teams i...

Re: 2015 Walsh cup

What is surprising is why you all are surprised with a result and performance like today. It's no surprise. Every aspect of Offaly hurling has been mismanaged for the past 15 years and to this very day continues to be the case. You get what you deserve and that's exactly what's happening with Offaly...

Re: Offaly GAA is in Some State

Where's is the hurling plan? This is disgraceful what is happening to hurling in Offaly at the moment. The only way forward for Offaly hurling is if there is full transparency. Is there a plan in progress? I really hope so and I really hope that people that are interested are given the opportunity t...

Re: Hurling in January! Would the GAA get a grip?

While you can't judge hurling skill in January you can judge allot of other things: Pride in Jersey Heart Desire Hunger Determination Fitness Attitude Oddly enough, I would argue that most of these things are probably better judged on the training field than in a Walsh Cup environment. Essentially ...

Re: What are they smoking in Birr?

It's great to see so much great work been done in Birr. I look forward to seeing their strategic plan and the implementation process. In my own personal opinion I just can't see it happen. It's hilarious the amount of people from Limerick/Dublin and Clare going around putting themselves out as the ...

Re: Hurling in January! Would the GAA get a grip?

The league quarter-finals and semi-finals are superfluous anyway, shur who targets winning the league? Are you joking? Who targets winning the league? Answer: Kilkenny In the past 10 Years: KK have won 7 All-Irelands KK have won 8 Leinster SHC KK have won 6 Walsh Cup's KK have won 6 National Hurlin...

Re: Offaly GAA is in Some State

Does anybody care anymore? Five months on from the meeting in Birr and what has been achieved? (3 coaching sessions by Martin Fogarty apart) where is our blue print on going forward? where is our strategic plan? Where is Offaly's pathway to success? What resources are been put in place to achieve su...

Re: What are they smoking in Birr?

it just shows how uneducated the players are so really doesn't it if this is the best they can come up with. (again the same players that 3 months ago thought their manager was excellent and one of the best they had trained under!) Birr think they have the players and the players think they are good...

Re: What are they smoking in Birr?

It's funny are these the same Birr players that 3 months ago said that Johnny Pilkington is the best trainer they hurled under and they are all very happy with him but yet none of them stood up and supported him at the AGM? In my opinion Birr are entering dangerous ground here. Players should never ...

Re: County Board 2015

Easy to say co board weren't interested but it is not up to them. It's not up to county board to go and meet past players who contacted them and showed an interest in Coaching teams and putting correct structures and coaching in place at all levels, clubs, schools and county teams? Are you serious?...
