Re: Offaly vs Kilkenny (football)

The Footballing Eddie Brennan is one great free-taker from his hands. I'd say that he probably accounts for over 50% of Kilkenny scores during the League.

Re: Hanniffy bows out

Best of Luck to Gary and Thanks for the Inter-County Memories, especially Thurles 1998 and the Ending of Brian Corcoran's Illustrious First Career as a Centre-Half-Back.

Re: Expectation from the NHL this year?

I totally agree with you, Lone Shark!!

Good for the Dubs, Fair Play, and Justice Done!!

One Side Effect - Wexford will be gunning for them in the Championship.

Re: Birr

I didn't see the Sid incident but my neighbours in the crowd said that it was an innocuous elbow or push which the Portumna player made a meal of. Sid had been annoyed that the Portumna player didn't cough up the ball for the free kick. The surface was brilliant for ground hurling and I was surprise...

Re: Expectation from the NHL this year?

I have to agree that we are off the pace at the moment. Still, as POTH says, some encouraging signs of player development. I wouldn't give up on the year yet! Is the League format for next year set? I'm thinking that an 8 team Division 2 made up of, say, Offaly, Laois, Wexford, Antrim, Westmeath, Ke...

Re: Expectation from the NHL this year?

The team never attacked the game and Laois deserved the victory although Offaly could have stolen it at the end. I hope that Joe Dooley and the selectors take on board the lessons because a few players are not up to it or are being played out of position. It wasn't all bad! Joe Bergin stepped up to ...

Re: Offaly v Carlow

Offaly 3-19 Carlow 0-08 HT Offaly 1-7 Carlow 0-6 Offaly lived dangerously in the first half when they could have conceded a couple of goals. One such gilt-edged Carlow chance was followed by Offaly going down the other end via a long ball fielded by Paschal Kelleghan who off-loaded to Niall McNamee ...

Offaly 5-16 V London 1-06

Offaly V London . Offaly 7 wides - London 5 wides. Offaly played a different "Pat Roe" style with a lot of interpassing in the forwards. They were always looking to set up a final pop pass or rugby-style off-load to put somebody through on goal. This is completely different from the tradit...

Re: Offaly vs Wexford - Walsh Cup

Well,Offalys Future, Offaly got the win and there was no fancy hurling so you got your wish. Offaly 1-12 (15 wides) , Wexford 0-11 (14 wides) Offaly's gritty, battling display secured the win, helped by the dismissal of Michael Doyle of Wexford after 21 minutes. Shane O'Connor : Varied the puckouts ...

I would try registering again by texting OESPORT to 50100 To AZOffaly : Yes, they give the results of all the county championship games over the weekend. It's quick as well. Re: WHERE TO PLAY JOE BERGIN ???

Centre Back for Joe Bergin! He was a fine Minor Inter-County player in that position and he seems to be playing it well for his club!

Re: Footballers

Since other angles have been covered I'll do a quick run through the players: Padraic Kelly: Little to do except organise the defenders from behind (which he did). Ger Rafferty: Loves to hit and looked fit & sharp. Natural defender e.g. made sure that everything was sorted on the goal-line befor...
