Re: Offaly Senior Footballers 2024
I'd agree and I'd add Keelan Cawley to that list. I've watched lots of that U20 team in adult club championship over last 2-3 years and none of them have stood out in any way at club level, bar perhaps Lee Pearson, Keith O Neill and possibly Harry Plunkett who isn't even on the senior panel. For wha...

Re: Offaly Senior Footballers 2024
Down and Sligo to go up for me. Limerick and Wicklow to drop. Sligo have real buzz in football in recent years. Their seniors have improved hugely under Tony McEntee and think Offaly are small bit off their level now. They were also extremely close to winning U20 All Ireland last year and were reall...

Re: Offaly Senior Footballers 2024
Is Keith O’Neill involved with the seniors this year? Really fast and exciting player. Scored 1-1 for Maynooth last night. Aaron Brazil and one of the Plunkett brothers also playing in a win over MTU Cork. I think he may have been injured again recently but he should be involved if not already. Any...

Re: Offaly Senior Footballers 2024
Futile enough to be suggesting championship teams at this stage given changes thatll occur through league and injuries etc but for what it's worth, id go along lines of following with competition also named. May have left out some due to just forgetting or not knowing they are on panel etc. 1. Duffy...

Re: Offaly Senior Footballers 2024
Good game in tough conditions, very breezy and slippy. Offaly much better in 2nd half. Struggled early on with Laois physicality. Laois made 9 changes at half time to Offaly's 2 or 3. We also played without John Furlong for 10 mins in second half as he was black carded before HT. Observations - midf...

Re: Offaly Senior Footballers 2024
Team v Laois is named. Might be considered experimental given some names in it and some left out but its certainly got lots of legs and mobility in it. Would not be one bit surprised if this becomes close to a starting team further down the line. Ian Duffy David Dempsey Diarmuid Finneran Ballinagar ...

Re: Offaly Senior Footballers 2024
You may want to check facts before making false statements online. Fact is that Tierney moved to Australia after Offaly started back training. He wasn't selected for training panel of approx 50 players as is within managements right not to select him. Beyond that, of course there are many reasons an...

Re: Offaly Senior Footballers 2024
Tbh, It is surprising to me how Panda and Tierney would not be considered to be in the best 5 or 6 inside forwards in county. Daingean were convincing winners in inter and will threaten in Senior B and Tierney was by far the best player for them. He is still young enough and more than good enough to...

Re: Offaly Senior Footballers 2024
Sorry to hear this. Panda has been a very good servant and probably one of our most prominent and reliable forwards over last 10 years.

Re: Offaly Senior Footballers 2024
Wouldn't put any weight on any result we get in any challenge this time of year. You don't know who you are really up against. Possibly B / C teams we play at times. We beat a fraction of a Longford team and lost to a third of a Roscommon team too. It means nothing. Main thing is we have best player...

Jan 28th Offaly vs Westmeath Feb 4th Antrim vs Offaly Feb 18th Offaly vs Clare Feb 24th Down vs Offaly March 3rd Offaly vs Wicklow March 17th Sligo vs Offaly March 24th Offaly vs Limerick You'd have to think that this is probably the weakest Div 3 that we have played since we joined it 6 or 7 years...

Re: Offaly Senior A Hurling Championship 2023
Tullamore had two teams in Junior A two or three years ago. The better team won it. They were put in separate groups for championship - One called Tullamore and other one An Tulach Mhor.

Re: Club football and hurling managers 2033
So who are the senior football managers for 2024? From what is doing the rounds recently, Tullamore - Stack likely to stay on but unconfirmed Rhode - unknown Ferbane - Rafferty likely to stay but unconfirmed Edenderry - Declan Cummins to stay on Durrow - Change in management from last year Bracknagh...

Re: Offaly Senior Footballers 2024
Most of these lads would have been involved in Declan Kellys U20 teams over last 5 years or so. Kelly would have had the 2024 U26's down to U22's at U20 level. That is a fairly good insight into who are the best lads that would be available to make up the bones of the senior panel when you also fact...

Re: New club football format
Absolutely ridiculous call. Sure they may as well scrap the group games and play knock-out q-finals altogether from the start. Load of lads will head away, especially lads in college and come back then for the championship q finals in September. Lots of lads will be asked to play up from junior etc ...
