Re: National Hurling League 2017

File under horseshite if you like, but something I've been thinking about and chatted about over pints now and again, albeit originally from an S/C perspective in football, but from following threads on hurling here, I think it could work for hurling too. If we take it that the problems with the cur...

Re: B championship

I always thought that the Cats had it nailed down to a tee in terms of championship and league structures. In senior hurling the league dictates where you start your championship campaign. The top 2 teams in the league get a bye to the quarter final I think. The bottom four teams of the league star...

Re: Chairperson

I believe people don't go for the roles as it takes a team of people to come together to dismantle most of the officers on the board at the minute no point going in on your own. Most people would be of the opinion why would I put my name forward for a role when there is various "clicks" amongst the...

Re: Offaly hurling manager??

As appointments goes, it's a match-up for both parties. There is scope for modest progress for both Offaly and Ryan- as has been pointed out, the likelihood of getting in a big 'stellar' name was never on. If you look at the pecking order, Offaly have extricated themselves from the round robin, and ...

Re: U21 Hurling Championship.

Well done to all the squad and management. Results for senior hurlers and footballers, minor footballers and now tonight the u21 hurlers. One step at a time will get you there- but there is definitely a lift that goes from team to team when each start winning. Opportunities for each team to move ano...

Re: Offaly v Westmeath, Mullingar, Sunday 1st May

I have to say, I'm a regular reader here, but a rare poster. Just to pick up on a few points and the dismay surrounding the county team's performance, most notably at the weekend, while disappointing, is hardly surprising. We'll come to that in a minute, but I just feel that to vilify any player, o...

Re: Allianz Hurling League Roinn 1B 2016

This is more like it- at last!! I mean a series of posts that acknowledge reality, without either wallowing in misery, lashing out blindly at all generalisations, and not resorting to the blame game or falling into squabbling over petty which clubs or venues are right and which is wrong. It's going ...
