Re: Newspaper Articles

I think it’s a good idea. Most management teams hold some form of trials each season, so why not try to make them as competitive and realistic as possible. 4 games gives everyone a fair chance and gives the management team plenty of scope to see different people and try different scenarios. Holding ...

Re: U21 Hurling

Jesus, I am sorry I pointed out anything about the geographic spread of the clubs, seeing some of the petty BS comments on here. This whole North/South divide is such rubbish. If we are to stand any chance in the future we need to pull together as one. We are way too small a county not to be produci...

Re: U21 Hurling

There's a chance, if they don't allow Galway to build an early lead. Offaly beat Tipperary in a Semple Stadium challenge two weeks ago with a last minute goal, so there is heart and determination there. Ollie Glynn will have a good knowledge of the opposition, and any Aidan Hanrahan coached side wi...

Re: Offaly Senior Hurlers Championship Thread

Galway walk in and will never be relegated from Leinster and it was just accepted from the teams in Leinster, I’m not blaming Galway but would they be welcome in Munster like this and would any of the teams be ok with relegation from the so called holy grail of a championship, me thinks not!! Galwa...

Re: Offaly Senior Hurlers Championship Thread

I have to say that I thought Ger Loughnane made some good points on the Sunday Game about Offaly getting relegated and what our attitude towards it should be. For 2019 the main thing we have lost is the ability to play in the Leinster Championship. There is an argument to make that playing in Leinst...

Re: Offaly Senior Hurlers Championship Thread

It’s a free world and the choice is yours. That’s fine. And I’m not having a go at you here. As for the bigger picture, like, there’s soccer on television every Saturday and Sunday - if you were to go arranging fixtures around soccer on television, nothing would ever be played. And there’s a world ...

Re: Offaly Senior Hurlers Championship Thread

Offaly season will be over very soon. What would be an idea , is to continue training till end of july/mid August. Stopping Inter county training mid summer makes the gap too big when they come back in October. Need to continue gym and hurling sessions to close the gap with other teams. You might d...

Re: Offaly Senior Footballers Championship Thread

In my opinion that sly punch is enough for his dismissal. It was cowardly and potentially very dangerous. The county board were right to oust him at the earliest opportunity. Brian Gavin is not a journalist and this week we saw the difference between a fan with a microphone and a journalist. There a...

You are the one making the claim about their performances outside on OCP. Why don't you back up your claims with some data, rather than rely on others to do the work for you?

Re: 2018 NHL

I watched the highlights of the Limerick match tonight and was pretty disappointed (to say the least) when I saw the sending off with my own eyes. Up to then, I had relied on Midlands Radio commentary of the match to paint the picture. What I gathered from Duignan's post match comments where he desc...

Re: 2018 NFL

This is not a trolling message. Genuinely, is this the worst result in the history of Offaly football? 18 points down to Longford. At home. Few consolation scores to put a gloss on an 11 point loss. Worst I had seen before this was Down at Home in the backdoor around 8-10 years ago, when the players...

Re: 2018 Bord na Móna O’Byrne Cup

Is it just me or does Wexford have the most difficult to pronounce club names of all the counties in Ireland? Every time I look at a Wexford team or see their club results I find myself having to stop several times to figure out the names of their clubs.

Re: Leinster club championships 2017

I wasn't at the game yesterday, but looked at the first half back on the TG4 player today. In the opening 10 mins both teams made plenty of mistakes - failed pickups, dropping the ball, handpasses not going to hand, poor wides... so it is not as if Cuala hit the ground running in the same way Galway...
