Re: Joe McDonagh cup

Leix will face a very different Offaly to the one they were sneering at in Portlaoise last February. Have to say that I didn't hear of any sneering after the Offaly/Laois game. I did hear a lot of people talk about how poor Offaly were. What evidence do you have of Laois sneering Offaly? Are you ta...

Re: Joe McDonagh cup

I'd struggle to look lads in the eye after something like that, never mind go into a team environment with them. Ross King should look them straight in the eye and don't blink until they do. He did nothing wrong. He is the victim and he should be very proud of the fact that he took his stance and h...

Re: Transfers

Personally I cannot understand lads transferring away from their home club. Especially in this case where the clubs are so close to each other. If a player was moving a couple of hours away then yes if you have a family and time travelling doesn't suit. I think each case should be taken on its indi...

Re: Additions to County panels Football and Hurling

True, not true, rumour or otherwise, it is no business of anyone on this forum what any player is doing in their private life and you should remove your comment.

Re: NHL Division 1B 2019

Question for you Old Yellar, has Carlow done much to grow the game in and around Carlow town in recent times? I know there is a hurling club there, but from what I know they are usually weak and struggling to survive. In a county with around 60K population, if Carlow are to have any chance of sustai...

Re: NHL Division 1B 2019

I believe there are 10 clubs in Carlow that play adult hurling. In Offaly that number is 20. Ballyskenagh/Killavilla Shinrone Coolderry Carrig and Riverstown Seir Kieran Crinkill Drumcullen Birr St Rynagh’s Lusmagh Belmont Brosna Gaels Clara Ballinamere KK Shamrocks Tullamore Kinnitty Clodiagh Gael...

Re: NHL Division 1B 2019

Reports of Carlow supporters discussing their preferred quarter-final opponents gave an indication that the Liam MacCarthy ranked county might have looked beyond the immediate task. Do you mind me asking where these reports came from? Are we talking about a couple of lads sitting in the stand sayin...

Re: Additions to County panels Football and Hurling

My personal experience is that there is no set procedure for handling such cases and it was pretty haphazard. When I got to the age where I was playing club, county underage and college there was a big grey area over injury recovery, and mainly the onus just was on myself to take care of and the bil...

Re: Joe McDonagh cup

I agree that Saturday evening or Sunday are the only times for Championship matches. Looks like that is not decided yet, as the exact dates are still TBD.

How far in advance does that get decided does anyone know?

Re: Joe McDonagh cup

Looking at the fixture list, I am genuinely excited about the championship for the first time in years. They will be 4 good games with teams at our standard with something really tangible to play for. Bring on the Summer.

I generally like your posts POTH, but found this one disrespectful towards Laois. No need for it.

Re: Senior A Football 2019

I agree with knockout too. With only 8 teams, you could run it off in 3 weekends - lets say "April for clubs". Lets lads plan their Summer without having to worry about dreaded football matches getting in the way. Avoids the dreaded player burnout potential issue. Also, makes room for way more inter...

Re: NHL Division 1B 2019

So, is it fair to say that you generally agree with the structure of the championship overall Lone Shark, with a couple Of slight modifications? The changes being: relegation playoff between bottom in Munster and Leinster with the loser dropping and being replaced directly with Joe McDonagh winner? ...
