Re: Sigerson/Fitzgibbon 2020

Serious Offaly representation last night in Sigerson competition. Great to see! DCU ran out comfortable winners against Maynooth with 3 Offaly starters all doing well - Jack Bryant, Bill Carroll and Shane Tierney (surely worth a call back into senior set up). Maynooth themselves had 3 Offaly starte...

Re: New motion to protect boundaries

Has the catchment area of all clubs been settled by the County Board ? If they have are there maps and or lists of townlands held by the County Board ? I know of at least one townland where players from it have played for different clubs albeit with a generally accepted point on the road dividing th...

Re: Offaly u20 2021

I can only CONGRATULATE all involved in Sunday's glorious win. The team who were only brilliant, the backroom, the sponsors. the support staff and the County Board who take the flak so often but now deserve plaudits... Then there were the Offaly supporters, in the Faithful thousands....... Hairs on ...

Re: Div 3 South predictions & general comment

Disappointed with the showing but at least they got to the Final and an outing in Croker=

Younger lads have a lot to learn and a lot of growing up into bigger stronger men to do===

Will take another 3 years...... I just hope to be still around and able to get to games them========

Re: Div 3 South predictions & general comment

From Hogan Stand

FL3 South full time: Offaly 1-17 Tipperary 1-12

Offaly make it three wins from three to advance to the Division Three semi-finals.

Now that will do any day...

Congratulations to all

Re: Offaly Hurling 2021

Meath 2-9 Offaly 3-20 EXCELLENT RESULT. Especially considering the hard work they made in the game in Birr last year.....

Hoping they can keep it going now........

I DONT BELIEVE THE VACCINE WILL HAVE NEGATIVE EFFECTS IN RELATION TO POSSIBLE FUTURE VIRUS====== Professor O'Neill might have educated answers to those fears. We will develop antibodies which may in time help us fight it but so far only one person (in the USA) has been identified with sufficient ant...

Re: Offaly v Galway. All Ireland SF Final 1971

Great memory = Soaked to the skin on the Canal End, Climbed the barbed wire and jumped off the top, Landing was soft !!!! Was immediately beside an exhausted Offaly left corner back who lay stretched out....... I offered a hand which he took and pulled him to his feet. He suddenly took off at full s...

Re: Defunct clubs

Millane Mellowes: I am not sure of what year/years it existed but I believe the name was chosen to reflect a Ballycumber/Bellair identity but that was a ruse to hide its real identity as DOON, who once again had some dispute with County Board--- and yes the Rohan/Ryan/Pillion names reflect the true ...

Re: Har Donnelly R.I.P.

Yes, Har did attend the Tech in Athlone and played for Westmeath Vocational School team. He would have joined the Air Corps at age 15/16. I have seen somewhere that he played Minor for Westmeath but cannot confirm. The Air Corps team, he & Charlie Wren played on reached a few Dublin Finals. The one ...

Re: Har Donnelly R.I.P.

Har did win an All Ireland medal======== with Westmeath Vocational Schools in the very first All Ireland Vocational Schools County Championship..

Their victims in the Final------- Offaly----

That Westmeath team also included at least one more Offaly man, from Tubber........
