Re: Maughan & O' Malley / Dunne & Maher
I DONT BELIEVE THE VACCINE WILL HAVE NEGATIVE EFFECTS IN RELATION TO POSSIBLE FUTURE VIRUS====== Professor O'Neill might have educated answers to those fears. We will develop antibodies which may in time help us fight it but so far only one person (in the USA) has been identified with sufficient ant...

Re: Offaly v Galway. All Ireland SF Final 1971
Great memory = Soaked to the skin on the Canal End, Climbed the barbed wire and jumped off the top, Landing was soft !!!! Re: Defunct clubs
Millane Mellowes: I am not sure of what year/years it existed but I believe the name was chosen to reflect a Ballycumber/Bellair identity but that was a ruse to hide its real identity as DOON, who once again had some dispute with County Board--- and yes the Rohan/Ryan/Pillion names reflect the true ...

Re: Har Donnelly R.I.P.
Yes, Har did attend the Tech in Athlone and played for Westmeath Vocational School team. He would have joined the Air Corps at age 15/16. I have seen somewhere that he played Minor for Westmeath but cannot confirm. The Air Corps team, he & Charlie Wren played on reached a few Dublin Finals. The one ...

Re: Offaly V Kilare 2nd round of LSFC
So we have a few injuries but then so do Kildare with 2 important defenders, Doyle & O'Grady out & the recent retirement of Peter Kelly. So if we can get enough good ball to the forwards the novice Kildare defenders could be in trouble. Then Kildare have Dan Flynn back and McCormack who missed last ...

Re: The mad month of August 1998 . . .
That Saturday in Thurles is a memory for a lifetime. Loughnane tried every lie & dirty trick in his book but we out-hurled them. I had a travelling companion that day... My Parish Priest and he a proud Cork man. He despised Loughnane for lies dirty tricks and lies and that's before his "3 priests" l...

Re: My rivalry
Not to burst a balloon but was there not an unfortunate Championship meeting and replay in 1949 with Westmeath, Now I was only a year old but living in Doon and attending school & church in Ballinahown in Westmeath in the Fifties and early sixties we lived the rivalry every day. Kevin forgets that f...
