Re: Offaly Senior Footballers 2024

Agree with all the contributors here that this was an awful display and a awful result. that Dublin had nothing worth talking about and as bad as Offaly currently are they should have been able to beat what was up against them by 4 or 5 points. The big thing to note is, this was a development Dublin...

Re: Offaly Senior Hurlers 2024

Absolutely nothing to be gained playing Galway again. And it would come across as bad form. I dunno what the feeling is on throwing in lads who are u20. Dont want to knock their confidence either. Its a different game altogether at senior level and alot of our good u20s were finding senior club a st...

Re: Offaly Senior A Hurling Championship 2023

Does any other county have any clubs with A and B team playing in the same senior competition? Curious to know if it has been done elsewhere.

And even better, have both teams collided.

Re: Junior A Hurling Championship 2023

Who was relegated from junior A hurling? was there a relegation playoff?

I know a few teams gave walkovers. is there a rule regarding teams giving walkover getting automatic relegation. nearly sure somebody mentioned this previously but could be wrong.

Re: Offaly Senior A Hurling Championship 2023

This was an impressive win for K-K. The Wexford county final a while back was a typical Wexford mullockfest, where Gorey looked very dogged when they outfought and outlasted Oylegate. With home advantage, a heavy pitch, Sean Cleere reffing it, an Offaly team in any way soft, would have been in both...

Re: Offaly Senior Footballers 2024

What would the expectations be for next year? For what its worth here is what I think. For too long now we have been making up excuses that we are in transition and I'm hearing it again these days. That's absolute rubbish. We are not in transition or at least should not be. Unlike underage hurling,...

Re: Club football championship 2023

Its fair to say Tullamore kicked it away themselves and that's where the finger of blame for the result should point. If they were able to kick fairly straightforward chances over the bar then all this would have been avoided. because they should of had this game won long before the final whistle. I...

Re: Offaly Senior A Hurling Championship 2023

PJ I asked the question was it 4000 that's what I heard it was. Number of posters had the answer and it was significantly higher. Which is great. Certainly not trying to down play finals in tullamore it's a super venue with top class facilities if anything too good for county finals ( hence the atm...

Re: Club football championship 2023

The Dowling Cup is back in Tullamore and that’s all that matters to the boys in blue. The better team won but there’ a number of Ferbane players in for a long winter as the game passed them by. A lot of talk about the the lack of quality in the match. This is modern football. Kick passes are a thin...

Re: Club football championship 2023

Wont say much on it as dont want to be too negative. Conditions were poor but jaysus the standard of football was terrible. Someone said that it was two savage fit teams. I dont think either were any fitter than club teams ive been watching the last 25 years. Gaelic football in general has become a ...

Re: Offaly Senior A Hurling Championship 2023

I agree. more luck to Ballinamere/Durrow. They have made great progress and there is massive massive interest inside the club. look at the score their junior A team put up against Crinkle and all other games. Thats not lads playing hurling socially. its fairly obvious they have huge numbers training...

Re: Offaly Senior A Hurling Championship 2023

Wait now the Belmont game they scraped over. A team minus their best two hurlers. Look what Coolderry done to Belmont. Who else have they beaten? Other than the last 15 against Shinrone I think they have been average at best. If they play any of KK Banagher or Birr they will lose. I don't know what...

Re: Offaly Senior Football Team - Championship 2023

Look I think there should be little to no expectation on this management to do anything of any significance with this current crop of players....the U20 All Ireland success was a fantastic achievement for the lads involved, but it hasn't had any impact on either the senior team or even on the U20's...

Re: U20 hurlers 23

Jaysus lads, could a bit of common sense not prevail here. Both teams had agreed to move it 24 hours. It was a genuine case and neither team had an issue. Lads give up enough of their time for GAA. Personally I think its ridiculous the county board would not facilitate it. i actually feel sorry for ...

Re: Offaly Intermediate Club Hurling Championship 2023

Does anybody have the Coolderry team and subs used in intermediate? I heard they have alot of their former seniors playing. Interesting to see. Some of them possibly played some part in an intermediate final back in early noughties when they were coming out of the very successful underage grades bef...
