Re: Offaly Senior Hurling Club Championship 2011
A very good final yesterday overall Coolderry deserved to win! Just a few observations Kevin Brady and Damien Murray have to be persuaded to return to the Offaly panel,Murray has been Cooloderry's best forward all year and since Brady has come back from injury Coolderry have been a much improved tea...

townman have you softened to Paddy Kirwan? Perhaps the inclusion of Brian Whelehan on his ticket has changed your mind?townman wrote:
so let it be paddy K or ollie Baker, Ken Hogan or Cody himself the question would be what has he got to work with.

Re: Offaly Senior Hurling Club Championship 2011
Coolderry v K/K Coolderry seem to be hitting form at the right time if Kevin Brady had got some of his shots on target it would have been much worse for K/K,the battle to win the final could be decided by whoever wins between Kevin Brady and Rory Hanniffy! Interesting to see will K/K keep Pad Joe or...

Re: “Shameful” if Lusmagh and Shamrocks stay Senior
If my information is right a proposal was put to the county board a number of years ago,Padraig Horan I think,to reduce the senior championship to ten teams by relegating a team every year even when the likes of Rynaghs Birr K/K won the intermediate! The only time a team could be saved was when the ...

Re: “Shameful” if Lusmagh and Shamrocks stay Senior
The rules are straighforward, if no-one goes up, then no-one goes down. I'm pretty sure no-one was forced to be relegated in 2005, 2006 and 2007, when Coolderry, K/K and Birr won the intermediate titles. Clara chose to go down IIRC, and Tullamore chose to stay up when they finished bottom of the pi...

Re: “Shameful” if Lusmagh and Shamrocks stay Senior
Perhaps someone could put me straight on this one,are Lusmagh and Shamrocks sure to be saved if St.Rynaghs and Rhode win the intermediate hurling and football championships? From what I can gather from well informed GAA people they will still be relegated no matter who wins! Anyone know for sure?

Re: Offaly Senior Hurling Club Championship 2011
Paddy Power odds for the semis
Birr 3/10
St.Rynaghs 11/4
Coolderry 4/7
K/K 13/8
A Birr K/K double would give odds of 3/1 worth a few quid perhaps?

Re: Intermediate Hurling semi-finals
Semi final wins today for Brosna Gaels over Birr (1-16 to 1-12) in an enjoyable match; and for St Rynagh's over Ballinamere (by a single point, something like 1-13 to 1-12) in a match that never really caught fire for some reason. Ballinamere will look back on this with serious regret, time after ti...

Quarter final results from today Killiegh 2-9 Tullamore 2-6 Ballinamere 1-13 Shinrone 2-6 I was at the Ballinamere game at halftime it looked like Shinrone were in control(2-4-0-5) but they were completely out hurled in the second half, but they still had chances to win this,Shinrone had a penalty wi...

Re: Junior A Hurling
Killiegh v Tullamore Killiegh will have too much for Tullamore, add in all that Damien Fox knows about the Tullamore team and Killiegh will win this by 7-9 points! Shinrone v Ballinamere This could be the best of the quarter finals,Shinrone are young fit and well able to hurl but Ballinamere will bri...

Re: Darragh O Sé linked to the Offaly job
What do we need? A guy that has won it all as a player or a coach that has experience at top level management? No doubt he comes across as a highly intelligent guy and coming from Kerry he would have his team playing football in the right way,not the sort of stuff Jim McGuinness has Donegal playing ...
