Re: Offaly Senior Football Club Championship 2011
Agree. Think Clara are a huge price. Will have trained all year with Rhode in mind. Rhode deservedly favourites but you just couldn't write off Clara.

Re: Darragh O Sé linked to the Offaly job
Why do we need a coach with tons of inter county experience?? Only a handful of those could be classed as succesful in recent times. Harte, O'Connor, etc. McGee and Tommy Lyons didn't have it and both were successful. Darragh O'Se is a football man and I for one would welcome any such appointment. I...

Re: Darragh O Sé linked to the Offaly job
I think this would be the high profile appointment of the year if it happens. I really hope its true. A man who would unquestionably command respect from the entire squad. Here's hoping.

Re: Offaly Senior Football Club Championship 2011
Clara will have known they'd have to face Rhode at some stage and vice versa. Rhode hot favourites but you cant write off Clara when facing this opposition. The winner of this one should have the quality and momentum to lift the cup. I'm tentatively going for Clara if they can get the returning play...

Re: Offaly V Limerick SFCQ 09/07/2011
Dont worry about the numbers on the Bradys backs. We all know Scott will be centre back. Might cause some early confusion as Ross heads up the field to line out wearing no 6. Its a strong team and you'd have to feel after the Monaghan performance that we are capable of winning this one. But we'll go...

Re: Offaly Senior Hurling Management 2012
[quote="durra1"]Francis Forde is the ideal candidate… I’m thinking David Moyes, Jason Ryan – young, low key, in tune with the modern approach committed in a way that can get through to the youth .. David Moyes is barred out of the Brewery Tap so thats a non runner. Tommy Dunne seems ...

Re: Offaly Senior Hurling Management 2012
Personally i think an outside manager is what Offaly hurlers need at this juncture. A proven manager. A bit of hype and media attention might not do us any harm seeing as being disregarded and under the radar under Dooley wasnt any great advantage. Liam Sheedy would be my first choice. Broke Kilkenn...

Re: Offaly V Monaghan, SFC qualifier, 25/6/2011
A fantastic performance given the circumstances, but its only Round 1. We need to push on from here and should go to Limerick expecting to win. Cribben needs to get them going now in training and even step it up a gear. Show thew country (and some of our own) that the obituaries on Offaly football w...

Gone??? Since Wexford game? Any others? Cant believe they jumped ship They are Both not happy to be Sub's, don't really think ya could blame them considering Offaly were beat by 14points against Wexford and the Forward line apart from McNamee was absolutely Terrible Don't think you can really defen...

Re: Joe hits out at County Board
Back of the net, you're as biased as the next man. I'll tell you why. You spoke of the hurling side of Offaly, and the so called "football side" of Offaly. Well the Offaly Under 21's were hammered by Dublin tonight in hurling and our u-21 championship was won by so called "football&qu...

Re: Duignan's outburst
There may have been a shred or two of merit to what Duignan said, i wont argue there. But what on earth did he bring it up for? It had no bearing whatsoever on the debate he was being quizzed on, none at all. If Dunphy or George Hook pulled a stunt like that it would be condemned as publicity seekin...

Re: Joe hits out at County Board
I'm from North Offaly, from a traditionally football club, and i frankly cant wait to start going back to Birr for Offaly hurling games. It just feels like home. And its also not the same having the county hurling final in tullamore either. We are divided enough from club to club so when the green w...

Offaly v Cork, SHC qualifier, 25/6/2011
So its looking like Offaly v Cork in Pairc Ui Caoimh at 3pm on 25th June. Will there be a crowd travelling? Dunno whether to drive down and come home or stay the night. Also, any updates on our injury list? Many of the Dublin absentees expected back? Suppose whoever is back will play wed night again...

Re: easy side of the draw
Old Yeller, as an adopted Carlow man i was delighted with yer win. A good few lads i'd have a pint with around Carlow made a nice few pound on them too. And no disrespect was meant but you must see where i was coming from. The celebrations in Carlow town last night show where ye are in Leinster foot...

Re: easy side of the draw
I would still think we have fallen into the lowest tier of Leinster football with the Carlows and Wicklows of this world. It shouldnt matter what Wexford did to Westmeath. To be using these counties as our touchstones shows how far we have fallen. I wouldnt back Offaly to beat anybody at the moment ...
